SHARKFEST’s 10th anniversary will be the biggest ever, with four weeks of enhanced content spanning across National Geographic, Nat Geo Mundo, Nat Geo Wild, Hulu, Disney+, Disney XD, ESPN, and ABC. Here’s what to expect during this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Can Sharks Change Color? And What Are Bull Sharks?

Revered shark biologists reveal the answer to the intriguing question of whether sharks can change color to enhance their predatory abilities. During SHARKFEST’s “Camo Sharks” episode, these scientists strive to capture real-time pigmentation changes to determine how sharks can manipulate the dermal cells in their skin to activate camouflage.

  • Showtime: Camo Sharks premieres on National Geographic on July 10 at 10/9c. The episode also airs on Nat Geo Wild on August 1 at 9/8c and Disney XD on July 16 at 10/9c.

Another equally exciting episode from SHARKFEST is “Backyard Bull Sharks,” which explores the rise of these creatures and their bullish behavior that led them to take over rivers and brackish waters in addition to the seven seas. The episode also explores the effect of climate change on the emergence of bull sharks and the importance of learning more about these creatures.

The six-episode series on SHARKFEST, “When Sharks Attack,” reveals the stunning secret behind the rise in shark attacks in North America and other areas worldwide. Another episode, “Sky Sharks,” shows how drones revealed that sharks live closer to people’s shores than one can ever imagine. “Game Of Sharks” will determine the MVP shark of the open sea based on ten nail-biting competitions.

Another exciting episode, also part of SHARKFEST’s 10th anniversary on National Geographic, is “Maui Shark Mystery,” which follows a group of fearless shark scientists who will free-dive unprotected with Tiger sharks gathering in Maui in a quest to uncover the mystery behind these creatures gathering every year on the Hawaiian island.

“Great White Vs. Tiger Shark” episode explores where to find these two most dangerous ocean predators, how much they can grow in size and other secrets about these majestic and powerful creatures.

People will be amazed by “Counting Jaws,” where researchers investigate a new white shark hotspot off the coast of California. “Shark Superpower” is another exciting episode that explores the iconic shark superpowers of bite force and speed.
