Seasonal travel is something that many people plan their calendars by, but what about traveling because of a season? All of those old-school magazines that gave quizzes about whether or not someone could be an "autumn" or a "summer" could also translate to vacation destinations. Everyone has a favorite season, so why not plan a vacation with that in mind? Whether an all-inclusive resort on the beach is your thing or you'd rather hang out slopeside with mountain chalets, there's a perfect destination for everyone.

The great thing about the world being so big is that while one country is celebrating summer, another is in the middle of winter. That means that depending on where a person chooses to go, they could experience their favorite season without even waiting for it to come around in their own country. Furthermore, it's a great way to experience the culture surrounding the seasons in another (gorgeous) location. So depending on your favorite season, here are the places that should be on your bucket list.

Spring: Bavaria, Germany

There are many parts of Germany that are beautiful year-round, and in May, Bavaria seemingly comes to life. This is the very beginning of the festival season in the city and with it, springtime markets, budding blossoms, and great weather. May Day is when Bavaria celebrates worker's rights and also the place where visitors can see the famous maibaum, or maypole.

The beer gardens, or biergartens, are another huge draw for this area. They begin reopening in the late spring, offering pretty outdoor views with some of the country's best brews.

The English Garden in Munich is another place to check out since it's the largest garden in the country and home to a wide array of plant life.

Summer: Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia has been voted one of the best summer destinations in all of Europe which is high praise considering how stunning its competition is. However, Sardinia offers beachside views and relaxation like no other, making it the perfect destination for someone who loves the summer season.

Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, it's nearly impossible to go wrong with a seaside destination such as this. With warm temperatures that aren't too hot and plenty of hotels and even B&Bs to stay at near any number of beaches, it's hard to pass up.

The south, west, east, and north coasts all offer different types of beaches and cater to different amenities, so be sure to check them out before booking a trip.

Autumn: Jefferson, New Hampshire

When it comes to leaf-peeping season, no one does it better than New England. The US is home to many cities and towns that experience leaf color variety like no other and one of the best is New Hampshire.

Jefferson, or anywhere around this sleepy town, is filled with every shade of orange, red, and yellow from late September on. Set against the picturesque White Mountains, it's tough to find any surrounding area that doesn't have stunning views during the Autumn season.

Not to mention, apple cider and apple cider donuts only serve to enhance a leaf-viewing vacation.

Winter: Hallstatt, Austria

Hallstatt was recently voted the prettiest village in the entire world and it's easy to see why.

This tiny town sits on the edge of a lake with Salzburg Mountain rising up on the other side, making it feel like something out of a winter-time fairy tale. When everything is blanketed with snow, the entire view, from snow-covered rooftops to snowcapped mountain summits, is simply breathtaking.

This village is also a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it that much more of an experience.
