London and Paris are iconic centers of western civilization. With long histories that go hand in hand with each other in many ways, why not visit both cities in one trip.

Day 1: Arriving in London

Once travelers land in London they should try to get an early night as there is much for them to do the following day.

Day 2: Central London

Westminster Abbey

Built by Henry III in 1245, this is one of the most prominent Gothic structures in England. It was initially home to the Benedictine monks, it has been the coronation church since 1066, and 17 monarchs have been buried here. Travelers should visit this on the morning of their first full day in London

Buckingham Palace

After lunch, travelers should make their way to what is one of the most recognizable symbols of the UK. Buckingham Palace is known around the world and no trip to London would be complete without paying it a visit.

Covent Garden

For dinner, travelers should visit Covent Garden with its numerous restaurants, bars, markets, and boutiques. This is one of the premier stops for tourists in London and a great destination for spending an evening.

Tate Modern

Britain’s national museum, the Tate Modern, is an excellent way to start the morning. Travelers can visit its contemporary gallery and see some fantastic new art commissions here. Housed in the former Bankside Power Station, this is a fun way to start the day.

Tower of London

In the Afternoon, the Tower of London is an excellent destination. Travelers can explore a thousand years of history in this former fortress and prison. Meet the famous ravens and snap some photos of the imposing White Tower.

St. Paul's Cathedral

Rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1666, St. Paul's Cathedral was the location of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer’s wedding ceremony and also offers breathtaking views of London. Try to reach the Cathedral before the sun sets for some truly brilliant photos.

Day 4: London - A Taste of History

The British Museum

Containing over two million years of human history, the British Museum has collections of artifacts from all over the world including the Rosetta Stone and the Parthenon sculptures. This is a great way to spend the early hours of the day.

Greenwich

About five miles from central London and set along the Thames, the borough of Greenwich is a trove of maritime history including the Old Royal Naval College and National Maritime Museum to name a some. This is a great destination for travelers to wrap up their experience inside the city.

Day 5: London - Day Trip Out of the City

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford Day Trip from London

Day 6: Travel to Paris

Day 7: Paris - A Day of Old Charms

Arc de Triumph

Built on the order o Napoleon to honor the victories of his army, this structure has stood iconically in Paris for over two hundred years. It was inspired by the arches of antiquity and is an excellent morning venture for a traveler's first full day in Paris.

Musee d’Orsay

Once travelers have finished their lunch on their first full day in Paris, they should visit the Musee d’Orsay. This beautiful museum was once a railroad station, and now it’s home to a vast collection of impressionist art. Travelers can take in this collection for several hours.

Montmartre

Montmartre is located in the 18th Arrondissement and is a great destination for travelers to refresh at upscale cafés and shops while enjoying its old charms.

Day 8: Paris - Experience Two Extremes

Catacombs

The Catacombs are labyrinth twenty meters beneath Paris. To be fair, this is not a great location for those with health issues as there are numerous stairs and no easy way out. That being said, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the remains of about six million Parisians lining the sides of the labyrinth.

The Louvre

Back in the light, travelers should visit one of the most renowned museums in the world. The Louvre even has stunning gardens where visitors can take a break from exploring its amazing collections.

Day 9: Paris - Versailles

Once the unofficial capital of France, Versailles sits just 10 miles away from Paris and offers views of the extravagance and luxury its former inhabitants lived in for centuries. This indulgent destination is an excellent way for travelers to wrap up their time in Paris.

Day 10: Fly Home

Perhaps travelers will have some time to enjoy parts of the city before officially ending their adventure. But, they should be careful not to miss their flight!
