From the U.S. to Europe, certain locations just seem to come alive, quite literally, during the summer months. As flowers begin to open up their petals for the season, walking through a field full of bright reds, oranges, pinks, purples, and even blues, can feel like something worthy of planning a vacation for. Don't believe us yet? Check out the photos for yourself.

Texas: Bluebonnets

Texas is well known for its bluebonnets and set against a fierce sunset, dripping with orange and red tones, these blue flowers stand out like no other. These fields alone are worth a trip to Texas and you can practically pull of any dirt road to get a great vantage point from which to see them.

The best time to see these pretty blue blooms is in April and the best places to go are anywhere between Austin and Fredericksburg. Fun fact: The reason there are so many of these bluebonnets is that the Texas Department of Transportation scatters 30,000 pounds of seeds each year.

Netherlands: Tulip Fields

The tulip fields in the Netherlands speak to the color-loving human in all of us, as these fields bloom in bold orange, yellow, pink, and red hues. The place to go to see these is Amsterdam anytime between March and May, and the Flower Route specifically will take you to and through the fields.

A second option (and one that doesn't require a bike) is to observe these fields from the Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse.

France: Lavender Fields

There's something so calming about the scent of lavender and it's been proven to have a wide array of health benefits so, with that being said, standing in a field surrounded by lavender must also have some serious benefits. You can only imagine how calm and tranquil it would be to stand in this field and listen to the lavender bushes blow gently in the wind while their scent lingers in the air.

Provence, France, is the place to go to experience this at any time during the summer months. For those who can't make it all the way to France, there are actually lavender fields scattered throughout the U.S., as well.

Cotswold, U.K.: Daffodils

Leadon Valley in Gloucestershire, also known as Daffodil Way, erupts in white and yellow blooms every spring season. Walking down this lovely path is like something out of an idyllic novel and it's something you won't soon forget.

Set against bright green grass, these daffodils are just dreamy, each one prettier than the last. Take the walk at your own leisure and soak up all the beauty these have to offer.

Tuscany, Italy: Sunflowers

The sunflowers in Tuscany just seem fitting for a region of Italy that so loves the sun. These sunflower fields are at their peak during mid-July and this is where you can see them for miles, practically as far as the eye can see.

The villages surrounding these sunflowers also date back to the Medieval Ages, making the trip a bit historical and a bit romantic all the same.

San Diego, California: Ranunculus Fields

Not too many people are familiar with the ranunculus flower but they should be because each year, at the Carlsbad Flower Fields, this grassy meadow explodes in rainbow hues. These flowers are absolutely stunning and visitors are permitted to walk through the fields or take a tractor tour to get an easy tour of the entire garden.

The ranunculus flowers account for roughly 50 acres of land, making it one of the most extravagant and beautiful sights in this area of the city.

Mount Rainier, Washington: Wildflowers

You don't need to hike up to the summit of Mount Rainier just to see the wildflowers that thrive at its base. Each spring, these wildflowers come up in vibrant hues of purple, pink, and yellows, with each year looking slightly different from the last.

As temperatures get warmer, these flowers begin to peak in late summer around July and August, making this the best time to see them.
