Brad Pitt is one of the biggest actors/producers in Hollywood today, and with good reason. Not only because of his talent, but because he etched out a place for himself in the world of movies amid a humble beginning. Upon growing up in Springfield, Missouri and attending the University of Missouri to pursue a Journalism degree, Pitt decided on a whim to move to Los Angeles just two weeks before graduation with just a little more than $300 in his pockets.
After some odd jobs here and there and a handful of opportunities as an extra, Pitt finally caught his first big break as a hitchhiking cowboy in Thelma & Louise. From there, he was well on the path to Hollywood superstardom, and went on to not only star in blockbuster classics, but was awarded for his work that critics loved.
All of that success amounts to a $240 million net worth. Prior to his split from Angelina Jolie, they had a combined net worth $555 million, making them at one time the richest couple in Hollywood, and one of the richest couples in the world. For anyone who is dying to know just how Pitt decides to splurge his money, read further after the jump.

24 A FAMILY YACHT
Brad Pitt and his then-partner spent a jaw-dropping $322 million to buy a "superyacht." If you think that price tag for a giant boat is ridiculous, they kicked out an additional $200,000 just to decorate. We guess celebs will go through any length to make sure they can travel through the waters of the world. We're too broke to understand.
What we do understand is that sometimes it's important to travel overseas through the ocean rather than a congested highway or a plane ride. Yachts are necessary sometimes.
23 DONATIONS IN HAITI
One thing that always connected Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together was their love for helping the planet and being all around humanitarians. One of their most significant contributions as humanitarians were when they flew out to Haiti in the wake of the country being devastated by a horrible earthquake in 2010.

He donated 40 orthopedic beds worth $100,000 to an Islamabad hospital.

Neither Pitt or Jolie kept Ethiopia out of their minds, and continued to dedicate their time and money to giving back to Ethiopia long after the country gave them a daughter. In 2008, both Pitt and Jolie donated $2 million to a clinic in Ethiopia to help fight against the health epidemics there.
19 A VILLA IN MALLORCA
In the middle of filming a WWII epic alongside Marion Cotillard called Allied in the spring of 2016, Brad Pitt gave himself a break from the set in favor of spending a weekend in Port d'Andratx.

18 HIRED A DENTIST TO CHIP HIS TEETH
Brad Pitt is highly dedicated to his craft as an actor; more than most actors out there, actually. Pitt has been known to go above and beyond for a lot of his roles, but he especially went the extra miles when he was set to star in the cult classic, Fight Club.
When preparing to play the delightfully deranged lunatic known as Tyler Durden, he didn't just want to go through a character transformation. He wanted a physical transformation, so he hired a dentist to chip his teeth for the role. Once filming was done, he hired another dentist to straighten his teeth back to normal.
17 BUILDING HOMES AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA
The world will never forget that destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina across the Gulf Coast of the United States in 2005. The mayhem from the hurricane was enough to convince celebrities to put in a helping hand for those who lost their homes in the tragedy. Brad Pitt was one of those celebrities.

He revealed that not only did he pay Jolie $1.3 million worth of costs, but he also loaned Jolie another $8 million to buy a house for herself.
14 EQUAL MARRIAGE DONATION
Brad Pitt once declared that he would not marry Angelina Jolie until marriage equality was legal everywhere in America because, to him, "No state should decide who can marry and who cannot."
While he and Jolie jumped the gun on that one by about a year - they married in 2014, then equal marriage was legal in the United States in 2015. In 2012, Pitt donated $100,000 to the Human Rights Campaign in an effort to push marriage equality across the states.

Played by Cassandra Peterson, Elvira was a hostess character who used to host her own television block of horror movies back in the day. Back when Pitt was still an unknown actor, he auditioned to play one of the teenage boys in the movie Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
He didn't get the part, but as luck would have it, Pitt would run into Elvira again a few years later after he became a much bigger name in Hollywood. In 1994, he bought a supposedly spooked mansion in Los Feliz, California for $1.7 million, which he still owns to this day.
10 BUILDING A BRAND NEW HOTEL IN CROATIA
In 2016, Brad Pitt went on holiday in Sibenik, Croatia. While there, he stayed at the Dogusevom Hotel. He took some time to speak to the architect who built that building, and that same architect went on to speak to a local newspaper to reveal that Pitt has plans to create his own hotel in Croatia.
The architect - Nikola Basic - was one of ten people who accompanied Pitt on a walking tour of the land in hopes of finding a site to build the project. The project has been reported to cost $2.5 billion.

They had rented the house out the year before for a month for $48,540 while Pitt was in town to film his latest movie - World War Z - and the couple loved every inch of it enough to buy it a year later.
8 BMW HYDROGEN 7
It is unclear whether this ride belonged to Angelina Jolie or her husband at the time - Brad Pitt. Regardless of who bought it, Brangelina arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of Pitt's latest film - Ocean's Thirteen - in a BMW Hydrogen 7 back in 2007.
In the case that it actually was Pitt that bought the car, he would have kicked out $118,000 for the world's first hydrogen-powered luxury sedan; it is environmentally friendly.
7 CHATEAU MIRAVAL HOME
In 2008, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased Chateau Miraval in France for $35 million. The driveway alone is 3 miles wide, and there are 35 bedrooms inside of the chateau.
It's also surrounded by a moat, vineyards, woods, and even a forest. It's like a castle straight out of a fantasy storybook. With it having the textbook fantasy story setting, it also proved to be the perfect destination where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to hold a private wedding ceremony in 2014.
6 A VILLA COSTANZA
In 2010, deep in the hills of Valpolicella, Italy, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought themselves a mansion villa that sits at 18,000 square feet. The Italian estate comes with 15 rooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a vineyard, several stables, and two swimming pools.
The reason for their purchase was because the family had fallen in love with the country of Italy while Jolie was filming her movie - The Tourist - there. Their purchase cost them $41 million.
5 AN ENGAGEMENT RING FOR JENNIFER ANISTON
Back when he was still with Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt collaborated with the world's best selling Italian jewelry line - Damiani - to create the Friends star's engagement ring. What they came up with was a stunning diamond and platinum piece combo that at the time was valued at $500,000.
Unfortunately, the couple's relationship with Damiani soured in light of a $50 million lawsuit. Before they reached a settlement, the couple's gripe with Damiani was that the company allegedly breached a contract by producing and selling copies of the Aniston-Pitt engagement rings after promising the rings would be exclusive to the couple.
4 AN ENGAGEMENT RING FOR ANGELINA JOLIE
After dating Angelina Jolie and raising children together for the better part of seven years, Brad Pitt finally popped the big question in 2012. Obviously, after spending seven years with her, Pitt needed to pull out a special engagement ring to highlight the best of those years.
The special ring he chose was a custom made emerald cut diamond ring that he designed with jeweler Robert Procop. Jewelry experts and critics have analyzed the 16-carat ring's craftsmanship and decided that the ring must have cost at least $500,000.
3 WEDDING BAND FOR JENNIFER ANISTON
Before the partnership between Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, and the Damiani company went awry, the Italian jewelry company also took the chance to produce the couple's wedding bands. These bands did not have the same exclusivity rights as their engagement rings, which is why the company continues to sell copies of them.
The rings that Pitt and Aniston wedded with were Damiani D-Side Diamond rings, which if were bought today are priced between $1,000 and $3,000; they're mostly sold at a high price today because Pitt and Aniston made the rings famous.
2 WEDDING BAND FOR ANGELINA JOLIE
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally decided to walk down the aisle together for a wedding on August 24th, 2014 in a private ceremony on the grounds next to their Chateau Miraval estate in France after dating for nearly ten years at this point.
Like the engagement rings, Brangelina's wedding rings were designed by world renowned jeweler Robert Procop. There is a chance that they might have received them from Procop as a gift, but if not, they had to have cost $250,000 each.
1 WEDDING WITH JENNIFER ANISTON
While Brad Pitt's wedding to Angelina Jolie was basically free (they had a private ceremony on the grounds next to their Chateau Miraval home, using flowers picked from their garden), his wedding to Jennifer Aniston had a different kind of luxury.
Aniston and Pitt had a wedding that cost around $1 million. Costs for the event would include ordering a private venue, hiring a security team for $100,000, dropping $75,000 on 50,000 flowers, hiring a six-piece band accompanied by a 40-person gospel choir, setting off $20,000 fireworks over the Pacific, and of course, a giant cake.
