The Catskills are a stunning and historic region. They have long been the weekend getaway for wealthy New Yorkers (or at least they were until cheap flights made more exotic destinations feasible). The Catskills are full of abandoned resorts and hotels, and they arguably add to the history and charm of the region. Today they are great for hiking and as a destination within an easy drive of the Big Apple.
There are plenty of accommodation options in the Catskills, and one go on one's bucket list is the AutoCamp Catskills. The AutoCamp is a great place for unwinding away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and hiking the many superb hiking trails of the Catskills.
