When we picture some exciting, fast-paced cities to visit, Las Vegas definitely tops the list. It's busy and crowded, and the energy from all of the people who come here makes it a top destination. Since there is so much tourist activity in Las Vegas, it makes sense that there are a huge number of hotels, and the people who work at these places have seen a lot of things.

Hotel employees wish that they could share quite a lot with the people who stay in the hotels where they work, but professionalism means that they can't say anything. Here's what the staff at Las Vegas hotels are too polite to say to guests.

It Would Be Awesome If You Left A Tip As Most People Don't

According to Vital Vegas, it would be awesome if people staying at hotels in Las Vegas left tips for housekeepers, but most people don't. The publication explains, "Our industry expert says hotel guests don’t tip like they used to, but most housekeepers get anywhere from $20-100 in gratuities during a typical shift. It’s estimated only about 40 percent of hotel guests leave a tip for housekeepers." Of course, the staff would be way too polite to straight-up ask you to give them a tip, but it's good to know that this would absolutely be appreciated.

It's a good idea to tip the staff who work at the front desk as well. As someone who works in this area of a Las Vegas hotel posted on Reddit, "we can keep our tips so if you walk up instantly with a tip we are more than happy to help. Most people don't tip the front desk staff so we make an attempt to make your stay amazing."

Not Everyone Will Upgrade You To A Nicer Room

What if you secretly give someone $20 and assume that they will understand that you want to be upgraded to a nicer room? It turns out that not everyone working at a Las Vegas hotel is going to upgrade you if you do this, but of course, they're not going to come right out and tell you this.

When someone asked on Reddit about handing over $20 hidden between a credit card and ID, a Las Vegas hotel employee said, "It really depends on the front desk agent. Some will take the money and still give you a crappy room because they are bitter, some will give you a better room, and some would have given you the best room they could have period." They shared that their hotel staff couldn't really give people better rooms so it would just be a room with a balcony or another view.

People Will Party But Just Be Upfront About Your Behavior

How do the staff at Las Vegas hotels deal with staff who party all the time? We can probably guess that this happens frequently in Las Vegas hotels since people come here to celebrate weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, and all kinds of things.

A staff member at a Las Vegas hotel wrote on Reddit that they know that people will party and generally accept it: "As long as everything is confined to the room and nothing is illegal that we know about it is ok." They also said that being upfront about your behavior is the best way to go as most people won't tell the truth when the staff says that they caught it on camera. The employee wrote, "If they just tell us the truth and say it won't happen again we generally let them stay."

People Die In Las Vegas Hotel Rooms, But This Is Kept Quiet

This is perhaps the biggest thing that a Las Vegas hotel employee wouldn't want to tell you: people do pass away in their rooms sometimes. They would be way too polite to share this fact, and they might not want to scare you.

According to Vital Vegas, hotels will "relocate the body" when this happens. The website explains, "If a body is discovered by authorities in a hotel room, there’s a mandatory two-week quarantine of that room. That’s two weeks of potential revenue lost by the hotel. So, a few intrepid souls on the hotel staff move the body to a place on the resort grounds where quarantine isn’t required." It would be pretty awkward having a conversation with the hotel staff about this.

It's definitely easy to see why hotel staff in Las Vegas would feel strange saying these types of things to guests. Even if they want to spill these secrets, they're going to be way too polite.
