The Travel Channel has been the host of numerous great television shows for a long time. Programs like No Reservations and Delicious Destinations have taken us all over the world and showed us some amazing places and incredible meals. No matter what your tastes, the odds are that the travel channel, at some point, has had a show that you enjoyed.

Throughout the years though, it seems that the direction the Travel Channel has been moving towards is less about travel and more about pure entertainment. They now have a bunch of shows that have nothing at all to do with globe-trotting and experiencing new places. Crazy conspiracy theories and unbelievable ghost stories are now front and center. They are getting less and less believable with each new show that comes out and that is no easy feat. We ranked the most popular shows from ones that seem real to the ones that are downright fake.

15 Every Museum Piece Has A Story Behind It

Mysteries at the Museum is an excellent program. The show takes you on a tour through all of the wonderful museums we have here in America. The host delves into the stories behind various pieces and teaches you a lot about history. Nothing fake about this show!

14 Ever Wonder Where That Ancient Monument Came From?

We have so many beautiful and exciting monuments here in the United States that it is hard to know about all of them. In Mysteries at the Monument, the host takes you on a journey to all of the most famous monuments. From Mount Rushmore to Washington D.C., you can learn a ton about America's history through all of its monuments.

13 The History Of Castles Has Always Been Fascinating

Like the two previous shows above and with the same idea in mind, Mysteries at the Castle teaches you all you could ever want to know about the most ancient and extraordinary castles in the world. Although some of the stories are pretty enchanting, there is not much made up stuff here.

12 Conspiracies Get A Fresh Set Of Eyes With This Show

While conspiracy theories are mostly deemed to be only believed by crazy people sitting in their parent's basement, some of them are actually true. In America Declassified, a former CIA agent and a geoscientist take a fresh look at some of the most outlandish conspiracies.

11 America Has Secrets And This Geologist Is Mostly Trustworthy

The American continent is millions and millions of years old. This means that it houses some incredible artifacts from all different time periods. In America Unearthed, a forensic geologist uncovers some pretty crazy stuff. Most of it is pretty believable, but not all of it.

10 An Archeologist Takes A Not Always Believable Adventure

While there are definitely thousand of Archeologists out there doing real scientific work, not all of them are in the pursuit of actual knowledge. This is where Legends of the Lost comes in. This is a real Archeologist hosting the show, but he isn't always using his scientific training here.

9 Megan Fox Is Definitely Not An Expert On Ancient History

We don't know about you, but we are not going to listen to famous actress Megan Fox when it comes to matters of ancient history. We aren't saying she isn't intelligent and doesn't know anything, but...there are probably better sources to go with. Legends Of The Lost isn't all bad though, you can learn some stuff.

8 Ghost Stories About Artifacts Are Probably Not True

The Travel Channel is now filled with shows about ghosts. They haven't stopped at just stories either, they now have a show strictly about haunted artifacts like creepy dolls. Ghost Adventures Artifacts is, how do you say this nicely, not particularly believable.

7 These Places Are Scary But Are They Really Haunted?

Haunted U.S.A is a good show if you like hearing stories about haunted places. The show never really says that the stories are true, they are just telling you about them. It makes the show easier to watch because you can decide if you want to believe the tales or not.

6 At Least They Try To Make This One Seem Realistic

Most of the ghost shows on the Travel Channel don't even try to seem real it seems like. However, The Dead Files at least tries to give the show some realistic aspects. The two hosts both do investigations into ghostly matters separately and combine their conclusions at the end.

5 Someone Has To Tell These Guys Bigfoot Isn't Real

Bigfoot as long been the leading figure of many conspiracy theories. People have been trying to prove these mysterious creature's existence for a long time. Expedition Bigfoot is a show centered on a group of people continuing this hunt. So, if you don't think Bigfoot is real, this show is not for you.

4 Aren't There Enough Ghost Hunting Shows Already?

Ghost Adventures is one of those classic ghost hunter shows. It's a group of "paranormal investigators" who do house calls and try and find ghosts. This kind of thing has been done over and over. Not only is it really, really played out, it's also just not believable anymore, honestly.

1 Ghosts Stuck In A Haunting Loop Doesn't Sound Believable At All

Last but not least and perhaps the most outrageously fake show on all of the Travel Channel, is Ghost Loop. This show is about ghost hunters who only go to families who believe that they are being haunted by a ghost that is stuck in a loop. Yes, you read that right. This means they are stuck in a place and keep haunting over and over. No way this is real.
