Flying in style just got taken to a whole new level.

Disney, in collaboration with China Eastern Airlines and the Shanghai Disney Resort, has announced plans to launch a Toy Story-themed airplane. The plane was unveiled in conjunction with the recent opening of Toy Story land at the Shanghai Disney park earlier this month.

China Eastern Airlines will exclusively fly domestic routes from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport for now, with Disney planning to expand the service in the future.

In the meantime, excited travellers visiting Shanghai’s Disney Resort will get to experience the trip of a lifetime, as they become fully immersed in the Toy Story world, before even stepping foot on the plane.

The one-of-a-kind aircraft is blue with an image of Space Cadet Buzz Lightyear taking flight along the side, and the tail of the plane featuring Cowboy Sheriff Woody. In addition, travellers can expect visits from Toy Story characters in the departure terminal while waiting to board.

Boarding passes will also be customized and once passengers enter the plane they will see Toy Story-themed seats - featuring characters like Mr. Potato Head, Jessie, Rex and more - tray tables, overhead baggage compartments, and a ceiling complete with clouds like Andy’s bedroom and Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear starring down at them (although some passengers might find the image ominous considering Lots-o’ was the bad guy in Toy Story 3).

The playful aircraft made its first trip on April 28 from Shanghai to Beijing and was considered a success by crew and Toy Story fans alike.

This isn’t the first time China Eastern Airlines and Disney have collaborated to give Disney lovers the trip one can only dream about - the airline also operates two other airplanes featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Passengers of the new Toy Story-themed plane can cap off their exciting flight with a visit to Shanghai Disney Resort’s new land based off the successful Disney-Pixar film. The land aims to make visitors feel like they’re the small size of the popular toys and will take guests to infinity and beyond with attractions like Woody’s Roundup, Rex’s Racer, and Slinky Dog Spin.
