We aren't going to pretend like we don't love going on holiday with our better half. It's a really fun thing to do and it allows couples to get even closer than they were before, as if they are reigniting their 'Honeymoon' period. Of course, some couples fall into the trap of just going on holiday for the sake of it, and whether that winds up being the case or not, there are certainly issues that rear their ugly head when you're away.

It's especially frustrating if you're supposed to be having a good time, when in reality, you're just focusing on the negatives. Both members of the couple experience this, but for this particular piece, we're going to focus on what the standard bf dislikes when it comes to holiday habits from his lovely lady.

The bf in question still loves her beyond words, but my god it can be annoying trying to get through to them with all of these points. Some fellas may not even bring up these issues, but trust us when we say that's a mistake - because your frustrations are going to resurface eventually.

A few of these entries may seem a little bit questionable when it comes to their validity, but trust us when we say it's all 100% true. If you're a female reading this and the glass is starting to shatter for you, then please realise that there's always time to make the necessary alterations. Or, alternatively, you could just get into a raging argument with your man to see if he believes all of this stuff. Whatever works for you.

24 Refusing To Leave The Resort Pool

We get it. You’ve come on holiday and you want to experience the high life, so sitting by the resort pool is a really fun thing to do. Alas, while it may be one of the things you love doing the most on holiday, there are alternative activities to take part in as well.

Spending the entire week tanning just seems like a massive waste of time, and that’s no exaggeration. It just feels like the resort pool takes over as the number one priority, when you’re supposed to show a bit of diversity in what you do abroad.

This one may just be us complaining, but still.

23 Using All The Hot Water In The Hotel Shower

A standard shower, in our mind, could last anywhere between 5 and 25 minutes depending on what your process is when cleaning yourself.

Of course, when you’re in a hotel shower it can be a little bit different, mainly because the hot water and the style of the shower itself feels so good and unique.

Even so, that shouldn’t mean that you hog all of it for yourself.

Imagine if your fella got in and it was absolutely freezing. Sure, it’d be funny to you and would resemble a comedy sketch or two, but it’s still not very nice, is it?

22 Being On The Phone Constantly

Why spend hours on end texting people that you’re probably going to see the minute you land back home?

It just doesn’t make any sense to us. If you want to enjoy some time on your phone just before you go to sleep then that’s a little bit different, but what if you’re out and about trying to see all the sights and sounds?

We happen to think that it’s just a little bit rude, to be honest, and while it can be easy to get addicted to your phone, think about the environment you’re in. You are on holiday, and holidays don’t come around every day.

21 Counting Down The Minutes Until Going Home

Now this isn’t meant in a malicious way because we understand the logic behind it to an extent, but it still grinds our gears.

So, what are we talking about? Essentially, we’re talking about the fact that even upon landing, bae will say “ugh, 6 days, 7 hours and 15 minutes until we have to go back to the airport”.

Like, why are you even thinking about that?

We don’t want to be dreading the thought of going home, mainly because we’ve only just arrived. Give us a second to sit down and enjoy everything before we descend into the doom and gloom.

20 Saying The Phrase “This will Be Great For Social Media”

Regardless of whether or not you get paid to post pictures as a social media influencer (and we’re going to assume you don’t), the word Instagram shouldn’t even factor into your holiday.

If you’re having a great holiday with your man, then why does everyone else need to know what you’re doing every single second of the day? It’s like you’re inviting them along to your holiday, and that just seems a bit rude. It’s almost as if you’re saying that chilling out with your bf isn’t enough.

So, just for a few days, maybe try and stay off the app instead of allowing it to run your life.

19 Not Sharing The Plane Window Seat

It’s just selfish, really.

If you have the window seat on the way there then your man should get the window seat on the way back. You’d think that would be the logical (and nice) thing to do, but no.

Most of the time the girl wants the window seat so she can get that classic plane selfie, or alternatively, she’ll spend half of the journey with the blind open when the majority of passengers are trying to sleep.

It’s all about being a little bit more considerate, girls, which some of you out there could work on (in our opinion).

18 Taking Ages to Pack

Should I take this dress? Should I take that dress? Should I take both dresses? That’s it, I’m not going.

Sound familiar?

The procedure for men when it comes to packing is pretty simple, but for females, it seems like there are a million and one different options. Obviously the art of getting your clothing for the week right is something that takes time, but once an hour or two has passed you by, it gets a little bit ridiculous.

Maybe we’re making a mountain out of a mole hill with this one, but it can be incredibly annoying depending on how tolerant you are.

17 Being Far, Far Too Loud

You’re NEVER this loud back home, so why on EARTH are you being so loud on holiday?

This is primarily an issue when it comes to thinking about the other guests. Whether you’re at dinner or chilling with drinks in your room, it can get pretty annoying when someone won’t just take the time to lower their tone.

You’re on holiday and you should certainly enjoy yourself, but think about those around you. If you happen to be in a big city, for example, then there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll be the locals that you end up annoying.

16 Complaining About The Quality Of The Food

We understand that when you go on holiday, you expect the best of the best – especially if you’ve gone with an all-inclusive package. While that may be the case, however, it certainly feels like going into the holiday with a negative attitude about the food can be a big problem.

We’ve noticed this on recent holidays with our partner, as they seem to be negative about any and all food choices before they even try it. Then, even if they do like it, they’ll just cover it up and pretend like it tastes horrible.

This is much more prominent with fussy eaters, but we feel like it’s accurate all the same.

15 Taking Pictures Of Literally Everything

Why do we need to take ten pictures of the exact same thing?

You may say that it’s because she hasn’t been able to get the right angle, but should that take priority over missing our dinner reservation? It sounds a little bit overdramatic but we feel like it couldn’t be any more accurate.

If you want to take pictures then sure, take one or two, but this isn’t a photoshoot. This is a holiday and it’s about spending time with the people that you love.

Perhaps we’re just being a little bit moody here, but the point still stands.

14 Leaving All The Directions Up To the partner

The procedure of handing out jobs and tasks on holiday isn’t exactly a fun one, but most of the time, we aren’t even remotely involved in the process. Sure, that may mean that your girl is doing some of the more important bits, but when it comes to directions, that can be a real pain to sort out.

The worst part is that your partner won’t even attempt to help you because once it’s been decided that it’s all up to you, that’s it. There’s no going back, folks.

P.S: if you’re in a small city it’s not so bad, but Apple Maps is horrendously inconsistent either way.

13 Not Realising Some Hotel Amenities Aren’t Complimentary

If there’s a bottle of water in your hotel room that mentions the fact it is complimentary, then of course, that is something you should feel okay about drinking.

When it comes to things like the minibar and any other amenities, though, please take the time to check with the hotel staff. If you don’t then you could find yourself with a pretty sizeable bill once you check out, and that’s not nice for anyone.

The man in question can fall victim to this too, but in our experience, it’s usually the other way around.

Oh, and no, taking the small shower gels and shampoos isn’t worth it. It isn’t worth it at all.

12 Taking Forever To Pick a Meal

We’re back to that age-old dilemma: picking your meal.

If the man is particularly fussy that he could fall into this category too, but trust me, that’s pretty rare. I once went on holiday with my mother and my partner, and I probably could’ve flown to China, adopted a local and flown back in the time it took for them to decide what they wanted.

I’m exaggerating of course but you get the point here. It’s just annoying when you find yourself in this position, mainly because you’re probably incredibly hungry. Also, you’re kind of wasting the waiter’s time.

11 Bringing Way Too Many Liquids

Why do you have two bags worth of liquids?

We understand that the need to bring some makeup means that the rules are slightly different for women in comparison to what they’re like for the men, but even so, it can get a little bit ridiculous sometimes. It doesn’t necessarily matter all too much in the grand scheme of things, but at the time, you’ll be left feeling incredibly annoyed that two or three bags worth of liquids are taking up so much room in your suitcase.

Meanwhile, the fella is sat there with his roll-on deodorant and aftershave, ready to see what the next week has in store.

10 Bringing Up Old Arguments

Nothing is scared.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a squeaky clean record for four years, lads, because if you get into a big argument for one of the many reasons we’ve already listed, then you’d better be prepared for your lady to throw that time you messed up right back in your face.

She’ll claim that she’s forgiven you and she’ll claim that everything is cool, but don’t fall into that trap. The argument is going to come swinging right back around with some force, and that’s not a great position to find yourself in.

9 Complaining That It Isn’t Hot Enough

Look, we can’t control the weather, and we can’t control the fact that it isn’t sunny at 30 degrees Celsius every single day of the holiday. If we could make it hotter for you then we would, but we can’t, so we’re in a bit of a pickle.

You’ve just got to roll with the punches, because your bad attitude could be what ends up ruining the holiday. We aren’t saying you can’t have a little moan because you’re well within your rights to do so, but that’s it.

Go on a short five or ten-minute tangent and just sit back, get a cocktail, and pray to the weather gods that things will improve. Doesn’t that sound like a nicer proposition?

8 Putting A Lot Of Pressure On The Partner

This one just isn’t really fair, in our not so humble opinion.

You’ve gone on holiday to have a relaxing time, and we imagine that your man is planning a surprise or two to ensure that you have the best time possible. So then, why not wait and see what he has in store instead of constantly mentioning that you want to be ‘wowed’ on holiday.

He’s going to provide you with that wow factor, and all you need to do is sit back and relax. It may be something big or it may be something small but he’s going to show you that he cares, and you need to show your appreciation for that when the time comes.

7 Comparing To Holidays With An Ex

Oh boy. Red flag.

We’ll try not to drag this one out too much but my god, let’s try and make sure that this doesn’t happen, shall we?

Whether it be under your breath or out loud for the world to hear, there are very few things that are more insulting than being compared to your partner’s ex.

It just seems to send the message that you don’t really care about your bf's feelings, because we can get pretty sensitive about that kind of stuff.

It’s double standards, really, because if a boy did this then the majority of girls would flip out – and rightly so.

6 Not Knowing the Party Limit

Being a party animal is all well and good, but it’s not that much fun for those around you when you take it too far. Picture being your partner for example: you’re out on the dance floor twerking and having the time of your life, whereas your bf or hubby is having to apologise every time you offend someone or bump into someone accidentally.

It’s a vicious cycle and it kind of feels like the kind of thing that has been on the rise as of late. Girls seem to be thinking that they've got a higher tolerance for their party side, which inevitably leads to things being taken just a little bit too far.

5 Spending A Year on Make-Up

Make-up is important and we aren’t trying to be the ones who suggest that it isn’t, but looking natural on holiday is one of the best things about getting away, isn’t it? You can be care free and not feel like you have to impress the rest of the world – unless that’s your actual goal.

Plus, it’s pretty time consuming. Your man may have been ready to get out there and have some fun 45 minutes before you, and by the time you’re ready to go, his buzz has completely died.

Just take these things into consideration, ladies.
