Architects are constantly trying to reinvent the game and make history because let's face it, that's always part of the mission dossier.

As reported by MSN.com, it appears we're not far away from seeing history being made once again as the new tallest hotel in the world looks set to open in Dubai in just a few years.

Making History

The behemoth known as the Ciel Tower is set to reach a mind-boggling 360.4 meters (1,182-feet), as confirmed by the developer The First Group. It will feature around 1,200 luxury suites with the different residences being spread out across an insane 82 different floors.

The Former King

Back in 2018, we saw Dubai take full control of the 'tallest hotel' market when the 1,168-feet tall Gevora Hotel hit the stage.

It was notable for also receiving certification from the Guinness World Records, and while its reign at the top may have been short-lived, at least the record is staying in the family over in Dubai.

Looking To The Future

The target for The First Group is going to be securing the certification that they need for the Ciel Tower to officially become the tallest hotel on the planet.

It will open in either late 2022 or early 2023, and of course, it'll add to the long lineage of incredibly tall hotels alongside the Gevora, the JW Marriott Marquis, the Rose Rayhaan, and the Burj al Arab.

They're changing things up over there, and they're doing so in a big way.
