When traveling, a lot of people understandably find beauty in nature, but we often forget how awe-worthy man-made creations can be. The top ten tallest towers in the world, for example, are breathtaking and can even seem surreal. If you've looked up at one of these iconic, towering buildings before, you know just how staggering they can be! Some of the towers on this list you may have heard of before, and others you might be surprised to learn about. Here's where you can find these ten skyscrapers and experience them in all their majestic glory for yourself.

10 Shanghai World Financial Center - Shanghai, China

The Shanghai World Financial Center was officially completed in 2012, and stands at 1,614 feet, or 492 meters. Located in the Pudong district of Shanghai, the building has 101 floors and multiple uses. Inside there are offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls. It's been commended for it's architectural aesthetic as well it's structural efficiency, even winning awards from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) in 2008 for both the Asia and Australasia categories as as well as winning the coveted award for Best Tall Building Overall.

9 Taipei 101 - Taipei, Taiwan

Taipei 101 is 1,667 feet tall, or 508 meters, and consists of 101 floors (hence, the name of the building!) It was regarded as the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2010 until another building on this list beat its record. It's high-speed elevators are able to take a passenger from the 5th to the 89th floor in a mere 37 seconds. While the building contains offices and restaurants, it also contains plenty of observatories -- including one at the very top -- for tourists to look out of. It also has beautiful fireworks displays on New Years every year since construction ended in 2004.

8 China Zun - Beijing, China

Though this building isn't 100% completed, it already is tall enough to make this list. The tower became the tallest building in Beijing in 2016, and the ultimate full height of the building was said to be reached at 1,739 feet, or 528 meters, in 2018.

Unfortunately, there are still some tweaks needing to be made and the building is not yet open for visitors. When it is, it will contain offices, luxury apartments, a hotel, an even a rooftop garden. The word "zun" is the name of an ancient Chinese wine vessel, the shape of which inspired the architectural design of the building.

7 Tianjin and Guangzhou CTF Finance Centers - China

These two buildings rank in at number 7 together, as they are the same size. Both towers come in at 1,739 feet tall, or 530 meters. While the Tianjin building is still being tinkered with as final touches are being perfected, the Guangzhou building was officially completed in 2016. The Gunangzhou tower, also known as the East Tower, houses a shopping mall, offices, apartments, and a hotel. It also has some of the fastest elevators in the world that can move up to 45 mph. The CTF in the buildings' names stands for Chow Tai Fook, as the towers are owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises.

6 One World Trade Center - New York City, United States

The One World Trade Center is regarded as the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western hemisphere, and the tallest building outside of Asia. At 1,776 feet, or 541.3 meters, it was made to commemorate those lost in the terrorist attack that destroyed the original World Trade Center buildings. It also stands as a symbol of America's perseverance, and was referred to as "the Freedom Tower" during construction. It consists of 104 floors, most of which are offices. This building is also revered for its use of renewable energy, such as reusing rainwater.

5 Lotte World Tower - Seoul, South Korea

Completed in 2016, the Lotte World Tower stands at 1,819 feet, or 554.5 meters. There is even more to the building that you can't initially see, as six of it's 123 floors are underground. Taking 13 years to plan before putting construction of it in motion, the building contains retail outlets, offices, residences, a luxury hotel, and an observation deck.

There are also cafes, bars, and photo areas for tourists who come in and check out the view. The building was specifically designed to withstand earthquakes with a magnitude of up to 9 on the Richter scale.

4 Ping An Finance Centre - Shenzhen, China

Located in Shenzhen, this building stands at 1,695 feet, or 599 meters. The massive building houses a conference center, hotel, and a high-end shopping mall. Of course, it also houses the offices of Ping An Insurance. For those who love heights, this building has one of two tallest observation decks in the world at 562 meters high. A few thrill-seekers have even tried to sneakily climb up the structure. A sister building is now in the works, which will stand at 290 meters and have a bridge connecting the two buildings.

3 Makkah Royal Clock Tower - Mecca, Saudi Arabia

You may also know this building as the Abraj Al-Bait of Mecca. Either name works. The Makkah Royal Clock Tower is currently the third tallest building in the world, standing at 1,972 feet, or 601 meters. This building has a plethora of things inside such as a conference center, an Islamic museum,  two prayer rooms with a capacity of 10,000 people, a five story shopping mall, and a Lunar Observation Centre, which is used to watch the moon during the Holy Month. The clock on the building also holds the title of largest clock faces in the world.

2 Shanghai Tower - Shanghai, China

The second tallest tower in the world is the Shanghai Tower, standing at 2,703 feet, or 632 meters. It also has elevators that are known as the second fastest-moving in the world at 46 mph. It's especially recognized for the "twist" in the building, giving the tower a funky and cool appearance. There are offices, a hotel, retail stores, restaurants and gardens inside, and of course there are also observation decks. Due to the windows throughout the building being made with double-glass and nine major sections containing a little atrium with panoramic views, you can technically get an awesome view on every floor.

1 Burj Khalifa - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Here it is! The tallest building in the entire world stands in Dubai at a whopping 2,717 feet, or 828 meters. The tower was completed in 2010 and has 163 floors. Spread out within these floors is 30,000 residences throughout 19 residential towers, an artificial lake, nine hotels, and a shopping mall. It has also won around 30 awards, including the "Best Tall Building Middle East & Africa" award by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat in 2010 as well as "Best Project Of The Year" at the Middle East Architect Awards 2010.
