What To Know About O.K. Corral Gunfight Reenactments

Today visitors can visit the O.K. Corral Historic Complex - it is home to the actual site where the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place.

One of their central attractions is their gunfight reenactments. While this may be the site of the most famous shoot-out in the history of the Old West, no weapons are permitted (due to insurance requirements).

Their reenactments happen daily at the historic complex and happen three times a day. The shows last around 30 minutes. One should book their tickets in advance (at least 2 or 3 hours early) - they often sell out.

After the gunfight show, everyone can take their pictures next to the reactors. Get one's picture with Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp.

Conveniently, they also have free parking located between 3rd and 4th Streets. The O.K. Corral is also handicap accessible.

Exhibitions & Attractions At The O.K. Corral

The O.K. Corral Historic Complex has more than just gunfight reenactments - they also have historic Old West exhibits. See a fact 1880s Phaeton buggy and plenty of cowboy equipment. These exhibits are best seen before the gunfight shows.

At their O.K. Corral stables, one can see period buggies, saddles, and other equipment. Visitors can also sit in some of their buggies.

At their Office Museum, one can learn about the history of the O.K. Corral and the murders that happened there. Also, see how local medicine was used by Dr. Goodfellow - a doctor famous for treating gunshot wounds.

While at the site, listen to a narration of the gunfight that left three cowboys dead and Virgil and Morgan Earp wounded.

Learn about the history of Tombstone another 26-minute multimedia presentation by actor Vincent Price at the O.K. Corral Historic Complex's Historama. The show runs every hour on the hour from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

One of the main exhibits just outside the O.K. Corral is the Epitaph Museum. There one can see reports of the gunfight and learn about the history of newspapers in the Wild West. The Tombstone Epitaph is the oldest newspaper in Arizona and is still published today.
