There're endless options for people trying to have a good time in New York, especially for those looking for mount-watering dishes. Wine lovers won't be disappointed with the city either, as they don't need to travel to have an incredible wine-tasting experience. The city has enough wine bars and shops to make an impression even among the most demanding clients.

For those looking for a great experience, the Rooftop Reds is the first urban rooftop vineyard in the world. While most people wouldn't expect to see a vineyard growing in New York, the founder says it's all about science. The Rooftop Reds seems to bring together the best of both worlds, and clients can enjoy their privileged view of the city while sitting in the middle of a vineyard.

Why The Rooftop Reds Is Innovative

Urban wineries are not a novelty, and New York has some successful ones. They often grow their grapes in wine regions and bring them to the winemaking facilities in the city, and that is how Rooftop Reds brings something different to the table. Their vineyard is located on the top of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, covering a 14,800-square-foot area.

Every year, the vineyard produces up to 25 cases of wine. Yet, clients don't need to worry about a lack of wine, as most of the bottles come from their vineyards in Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes wine region.

This medium-bodied wine has bright fruits on the nose, acidity, and firm tannins that lead to a juicy finish.

They also have an appetizer menu with cured chorizo, prosciutto, and French cornichons, among other options. The prices range between $5 and $12. Clients are not allowed o bring food or smoke while on the rooftop.

They Also Host Events

Rooftop Reds also has a schedule of different events, including a pizza movie night once a month, one of their most famous events, which is paired with wine. The place is also committed to creating experiences that will take its clients on a sensory journey, so they have events like pairing wine with artisanal chocolate or meats.

It's also a great place for vegans, as they often plan events focused only on vegan food. The Vegan Kaiseki dinner, for example, brings a vegan sushi concept, mainly using Kinoko. The ingredients are purchased from local markets, and guests can enjoy their dinner wine while admiring the stars.
