While it's true that the best recipe for a fun evening in warmer weather would be heading to any restaurant or bar with some friends, it helps to know the best places to go. When you're in the beautiful city of Montreal, you're going to want to find some rooftop bars that have awesome food and cocktails and, of course, incredible views that you'll want to Instagram right away.

There are a lot of bars in this Canadian city that have terraces with sweeping views of the city, but not all of them have super positive reviews that make you wish that summer would get here already. (Okay, you're probably already hoping for that, especially if it's still chilly where you live.) The following rooftop bars in Montreal have glowing Yelp reviews. Let's check them out.

Terrasse William Gray Offers Beautiful Views Of The Old Port

Thanks to this Yelp review, we know that Terrasse William Gray has great views. Someone wrote, "The view of the old port is absolutely stunning. I wish more places in the old port had rooftop terraces. If you're from out of town, even a local, you have to go for a drink and just soak in the view." The reviewer also said they have "a broad selection of drinks" which sounds good since you might not know what you're in the mood for until you sit down (or maybe your friends or partner are always a bit picky).

Several Yelp reviews mention the view, so we know that it's worth coming here for that and from these photos, we can see that Montreal looks gorgeous from up here. A few reviews praise the truffle fries, and another says that the popcorn shrimp is a really good dish to order.

It doesn't get more glowing than this review: "The most beautiful view for drinks in the city! Absolutely loved this place - the ambiance, the drinks, and the friendliest waiters I've ever met." When can we go?!

Taverne Atlantic Has Interesting Cocktails

Taverne Atlantic only has one Yelp review so far, but it's so glowing that it definitely deserves a mention. A very happy customer got a cocktail called a Pisco Fashioned which is like a classic Old Fashioned but it's made with Pisco, not Bourbon. The customer wrote, "I sipped slowly while watching people mingle away, laugh and partake into the last days of summer." They also shared, "The surprise, however, is the beautiful rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the view and sunsets, the only one in Rosemont neighborhood and not part of the original plans I've been told!"

According to Tastet.ca, Taverne Atlantic opened in summer 2019 in the Mile Ex neighborhood of Montreal. It's on the corner of Rue Beaubien and Avenue du Parc. The website explains that you can order ice cream, poutine, hot dogs, and pizza, which sounds perfect. With good food and some interesting cocktails, you'll have a flawless summer evening here. The poutine, in particular, looks absolutely amazing.

Nacarat Is The Place To Go For A Fun, Fancy Evening

What's dreamier than sitting at a rooftop bar on a gorgeous summer night with some good friends? If your answer is nothing, and you're in Montreal, you'll definitely want to go to a bar called Nacarat.

As one Yelp review says, "The drinks are on the more expensive side, but are consistent! They also serve well-presented cheese platters and snacks on the side, so that's a plus." Someone else shared, "On a warm summer afternoon it was completely packed with a real mix of people, lots of glamorous 30-somethings and out of towners. Despite being super busy, the service was surprisingly friendly and fairly quick at the bar. It's a beautiful space with nice views of downtown."

The cocktail menu offers so many drinks that you'll want to try and it's divided into different sections: Umani, Sour, Bitter, Spicy, and Sweet. These aren't cocktails that you can order at any bar or pub, so this is really special. There's the Narcarat Is The New Black which has "Midori, Mezcal, Citrus, Orange bitter, Squid ink." The Rhub Roy has "Rhubarb, Scotch, Bitters, Bubbles." As for food, you can get fancy and elegant dishes such as oysters, marinated olives, charcuterie, deviled eggs, and more.

Now that we know about the best rooftop bars in Montreal, we think that these sound like the perfect places to spend an evening with our pals. These three bars are totally going on our lists, and we're excited to try them. (We just have to make sure to Instagram a lot.)
