Everyone dreams of the perfect wedding, but the perfect honeymoon can be a little harder to come by. With all of your funds spent on the actual ceremony, you're often left with very little to spend on the celebration that's meant to be just for you and your special someone.

Fortunately, more and more experiences are available that are just as heavenly and romantic, but won't breaking your budget either. Here's a list of some overlooked or underrated honeymoon destinations that are a cheaper alternative to the more pricey vacations you often hear about.
10 Rincón, Puerto Rico
Many couples want a tropical honeymoon with sandy beaches and peaceful ocean waves. As many people know, Puerto Rico offers that! But the typical tourist destination, San Juan, is overcrowded and can thus run a little bit steeper price-wise. Rincón, however, has the romantic beaches and activities for half the price.
With eight miles of beach and plenty of quaint restaurants and places to stay, Rincón is a great place for relaxing and enjoying intimate dates with your new spouse. While there aren't as many tourists here, there are still plenty of fun activities like parasailing or horseback riding.
9 Williamsburg, Virginia
Many people know about the history and learning opportunities in Williamsburg, but often overlook how romantic it is! First, the B&Bs there are adorable, private, and most importantly, cheap! Then, there are the endless romantic activities to do there.
Go to a winery, or take a horse-drawn carriage ride around Revolutionary City. Tour the beautiful William and Mary College and take a stroll at the institution's Crim Dell Pond (legend has is that couples who kiss on the pond's bridge will stay together forever). For some intellectual stimulation, head to one of the town's many museums, and for thrills head to theme parks like Busch Gardens or Kings Dominion!
8 Niagara Falls, New York/Canada
So, this location isn't exactly overlooked like the others on this list. After all, Niagara Falls is often referred to as "the Honeymoon Capital of the World!" Still, there really is something to be said about the quality vacation you can get here at such a great price.

The hotels are stellar but don't break the bank, and the stand-out scenery -- the falls, obviously -- is completely free to look at. The romantic "Maid of the Mist" boat ride is also super cheap. With over twenty wineries and endless dining options, the hype about this destination is totally deserved.
7 Truckee, California
Honeymoons at Lake Tahoe are also pretty common, and can be flooded with tourists and pricey options as a result. A cheaper alternative would be vacationing in Truckee, California, which has all the fun activities that come with a Lake Tahoe honeymoon but for a manageable cost.
For snow bunny couples, you're near some of the greatest slopes for skiing and snowboarding. If cold weather isn't your idea of romance, go to Truckee during the summer months. Instead of winter activities on the slopes, you can spend your time trying summer activities on the lake.
6 Smoky Mountains, Tennessee/North Carolina
If you're a nature-loving couple, you may be tempted to head to the Rocky Mountains. Consider visiting the Smoky Mountains instead for a less expensive way to enjoy the outdoors. With plenty of cozy getaways, many of which are tailored for couples, you'll get the perfect mixture of romance and adventure.
Stay at one of the many charming B&Bs that are cheap yet quality, or even try "glamping," -- glamorous camping. When you're not cuddled up enjoying the view of the mountains, go hiking, biking, or horseback riding. There is no shortage of things to do in the Smoky Mountains!
5 Wilmington, North Carolina
The town of Wilmington is filled with history, art, culture and romance. The best part about Wilmington, however, is its proximity to some of the best beaches on the East Coast. Relax while looking out on the water, or go beach bar hopping and have a drink with your feet in the sand.

When you're not soaking up the sun, you can visit all of the museums, galleries, and wineries around the town. Don't forget to take a scenic trolley ride while you're downtown! If you're a pop culture fan, many romantic Nicholas Sparks films were filmed in Wilmington, as well as the TV show One Tree Hill. See if you can spot some familiar locations!
4 Molokai, Hawaii
It seems like everyone wants to go to Hawaii for their honeymoon, but that's just because it lives up to the hype! The popular honeymoon destination can be pretty expensive, though. Couples who can't afford the more mainstream Hawaii honeymoons should consider booking a stay on Molokai Island.
It's pretty unknown and makes for a quiet area, so if shopping is on your list of things to do, this particular island might not satisfy you. But if you're looking for incredible views and horseback riding on the beach, Molokai Island should be at the top of your list.
3 Sonoma, California
When you think of rustic wineries and vineyards, your first thought is probably of Napa Valley. Sonoma, however, is a lesser-known area that's just as worthwhile. There are plenty of romantic places to stay and eat, and numerous wine castles to tour and explore.
Oh, and you definitely need to take a hot-air balloon to view all the gorgeous vineyards from above! What sounds more amazing than sipping on champagne among the clouds? With the best spa treatments and plenty of opportunities to spend time in nature, Sonoma is like Napa's lesser-known -- but just as wonderful -- cousin.
2 Puglia, Italy
An Italian honeymoon is always going to be a bit more upscale, but there are definitely ways to save money. Staying in Puglia, instead of a more well-known area like Capri, can make a huge difference when budgeting.
You'll still get gorgeous country homes, gorgeous beaches, gorgeous restaurants, and gorgeous scenery -- just for a much better price. With all the leftover money you've saved, you'll have extra to splurge on something else, like a cooking class. After all, what's an Italian vacation without plenty of opportunities to eat?
1 Park City, Utah
Why drop a bunch of money on a trip to the Swiss Alps when you can get the same quality experience in Park City, Utah? Another option for couples who love the snow, Park City has awesome slopes for skiing. As far as romantic activities go, you can go snow-shoeing in the moonlight or take a sleigh ride.
We mean, when you're not curled up by the fireside watching the snow fall from indoors. Many of the places to stay up there also have not just jacuzzis, but heated pools both indoors and outdoors. The vibe and aesthetic of Park City is high-end like the Swiss Alps, but not nearly as expensive.
