Just like any other superhero, Jeremy Wade pops out of nowhere whenever people needed him to provide answers to some of the world's most puzzling mysteries involving strange water monsters. Simply put, he is the Superman of the extreme fishing world.

As a biologist, Jeremy Wade has a vast understanding of living things. But what fascinates him the most are the ones swimming under the turbid waters of the world's wildest and most isolated rivers, lakes, and oceans.

His thirst for solving the mysteries lurking beneath the murky waters of freshwater rivers started in 1982 in India. From that moment on, Jeremy Wade has traveled to too many countries to name just to solve marine cases ranging from the outright murder committed by our scaly and stingy friends to busting many larger-than-life myths.

Here are 10 popular myths that the man behind the legend has debunked so far.
