Let's be honest. One of the best parts of traveling is all the new content we can curate for our Insta feeds. You know the drill: take 100 selfies in front of a recognizable landmark, think of a witty caption, choose the perfect filter, and post away! Though no one will admit it, when traveling we have this burning desire to make our friends jealous. Here's a list of places that will do just that.

Suppose you head to the French capital, known as The City of Love, City of Lights, Paris– whatever you want to call it. There are countless places to take that perfect image just to reinstate to your friends where you are in the world (as if they didn't know from your other five Instas!) Sure, you can go to the Eiffel Tower or Louvre for a beautiful photo, but how about some places not too many outsiders know about?

10 Streets of Montmartre

Forget the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysées for a second, we will get to them. This quaint village in the north of Paris is bound to make your followers jealous. Everywhere you look, you will see cobblestone streets, corner cafés, and traditional French tabacs. Not to mention, Sacré-Cœur Church, which you will see peeking above the other buildings. There is something new to see each time you visit in Montmartre that is sure to add to your Instagram following, but most importantly, make your friends bitter with jealousy!

9 Sinking House

Among all the attractions in Paris, you would think a photo of a sinking house wouldn’t be a high priority for a photo, right? Think again! If you don’t do your research, you will simply find the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees and perhaps the Arc de Triomphe. As you can imagine, Rue Crémieux is quickly becoming one of the most Instagrammed places in Paris, so make sure you get there while it will still be a photo that makes your followers envious.

5 Au Vieux Paris D’Arcole

If you are looking for that one shot that captures the Parisian way of life in one photo, then Au Vieux Paris D’Arcole is the place you want to be. Decked out with purple chairs and tables, and hidden under overgrown shrubbery, this café encapsulates Paris in one image. The café remains a well-kept secret tucked away behind the Notre Dame Cathedral, so you will have to go searching for it, but once you find it, oh my, what an image!

4 L’Île de la Cité

Overlooking the serene banks of the Seine River, l'Île de la Cité is the perfect spot to capture the morning sunrise reflecting the buildings off the water. Make sure you head to Pont des Arts at sunrise for the best angle, and to really capture one of the best views in Paris. 3 Shakespeare & Co.

This Parisian institution holds many years of literary history and will allow you to capture a different side of the French capital. If you really want the best picture, visit here in Spring, where the cherry blossom trees are at their vibrant best. As you can imagine, tourists love this place, and while it’s not as well known as some of the other attractions in Paris, it does attract a substantial amount, so get here early for the perfect photo! Don't forget to grab a book and have a coffee next door to finish off the experience.

2 Eiffel Tower & Avenue Silvestre de Sacy

Yes, another spot to capture the Eiffel Tower, but this time with a completely different feel. Head to the corner of Avenue de la Bourdonnais and Avenue Silvestre de Sacy for a very unique image, and one that very few people are lucky enough to witness themselves. In the foreground, you will see the magnificently crafted and designed Regency buildings with iron balconies, overlooking a cobblestone street, lush green trees and the masterpiece that is the Eiffel Tower behind. It may not be a whole view of the Parisian skyline, but definitely ‘Insta’ worthy.

1 Champs-Elysées & Arc de Triomphe

What perfect photo list would be complete without a picture of the Champs-Elysées & Arc de Triomphe? One shot up the Champs-Elysées captures the precision of the Parisian people with perfectly lined trees and buildings, looking on to the Arc de Triomphe.
