7 Copan Ruins

4 Cayos Cochinos Islands

Quite enchanting virgin islands off the north coast, Cayos Cochinos islands are between Honduras and Roatan. The coral reefs off these islands are a part of the Meso American Barrier Reef which has been the second-largest coral reef in the entire world. There is a $13 entrance fee to check into this marine park although it's been worth it. Comprising two main forested islands called Cayo Grande and Cayo Menor, the only way to reach here is by boat. 3 Roatán Bay Islands

A tropical paradise located about 40 miles off the northern coast of Honduras, it is the largest and most prominent of the Bay Islands. Engulfed in lush forests, it has pristine white sand beaches and clear, warm tropical water.

Also, it is popular for diving and notoriously known for encountering the majestic whale sharks. Port Royal and Mary's Place are said to be great diving spots over here. 2 Utila

Another popular visit in Honduras and super close to Roatán is Utila. Located in the Caribbean, this place has a laidback vibe compared to Roatán. Having two main beaches such as Chepes and Bando, it has few other secluded beaches. Also, it's a great spot for diving with whale sharks and the best time to visit is from March to April and October to December. At the north of Utila, lies Pumpkin beach, the highest point in Utila which is a great trail for hiking too. For a glimpse of Honduras culture, this museum exhibits the fascinating art and heritage of the country. The museum shows a display of the significant Mayan culture.
