Vacation means letting go of healthy eating plans and living a little. Instead of a green smoothie for breakfast, you enjoy some bacon, eggs, and pancakes from the hotel buffet. You grab an afternoon ice cream. Or you order chips and guac while sitting poolside.

When you're traveling abroad, you definitely want to try some sweets that you can't find at home. European bakeries have beautiful desserts and Paris, in particular, has epic croissants. What about if you're going to Japan? Read on for the delicious Japanese desserts that you'll want to travel for.

Street food is always a good idea, so what about street food that is an amazing dessert? You're going to want to try taiyaki which looks like a fish and tastes like pancakes. According to Spoon University, this is "traditional pancake batter poured into a fish mold." You can find this sold by street vendors.

According to Metro.co.uk, red bean paste is the traditional ingredient that is put inside of this dessert. But some places have cheese and sausage or ice cream as the filling. It's nice to know that we could try a savory version of these, but we're thinking that an ice cream filling would be perfect.

While honey toast isn't a traditional dessert in Japan, tons of cafes serve this treat. Since many of us grew up eating honey (or honey and peanut butter) spread on toast as a comforting snack or maybe even had it for breakfast sometimes, this appeals to us a lot.

This dessert is incredibly fun as people go wild with decorating them. According to Saveur, this is called Shibuya Honey Toast and is also referred to as Brick Toast. How do you make this delicious treat? Saveur says that you cut out a square from the middle of a loaf of bread. You cut one-inch pieces from that square. After you bake these bread cubes, you put them inside the hollowed-out loaf of bread, along with toppings. There are some other steps, but even just hearing about this is enough to make our mouths water. It's basically toast that you can cut into like a piece of cake, so what could be bad?!

Reddit user referred to these pancakes as "fluffy food pillows" and that's totally accurate. There's a recipe for this treat on the Food Network, which describes them as "little souffles: custardy on the inside and golden and crispy on the outside." The ingredient list includes salt, milk, baking powder, confectioners' sugar, vanilla, butter, eggs, and flour. It's interesting to see that these are simple and typical pancake ingredients, but they end up so fluffy. Just One Cookbook says that you beat egg whites and that's what makes them this texture.

These desserts make us want to travel to Japan, that's for sure, and we would totally order all of them in one day. You do what you have to do on vacation, right?
