With countless peaceful places to call home in the US, there have been two additional locations added to this list. With Truckee in Northern California and Surprise, Arizona, these are only a sliver of the many tranquil zip codes in this beautiful nation. Let's embrace the quiet!

One of the more peaceful towns in Northern California is Truckee. Here, the quaint mountain town hosts a historic downtown area, plenty of residential neighborhoods, small businesses, and schools for the kids. Truckee is also a short drive from Lake Tahoe, as well as Reno in Nevada. The population here continues to expand as more families venture out into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Winters here are beautiful, although it's not uncommon to see a snow day (or two).

Prices will also be lower in this area than in Southern or even Central California, which is another bonus.
