For most people, the thought of eating ten hot dogs, let alone more than 70, is nothing short of a pork-filled nightmare. For competitive eating, though, this is the nature of the game... The most contents one can fit inside their stomach, the bigger the reward.

Competitive eating is nothing new and it's gained so much popularity that local restaurants have also started their own eating "competitions". Oversize and outrageous meals are the new food entertainment and believe it or not, there are plenty of world records devoted to it.

Joey Chestnut Is At It Again, This Time With One More 'Dog In The Bag

Chestnut recently broke his previous record of a whopping 74 hot dogs consumed during the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. The competitive eater is no stranger to the world of stacking hot dogs in his stomach, as he's had five total consecutive wins over the years.

Five more hot dogs is an increase from his record of 70 back in 2016, following a loss to Matt Stonie the year prior. The win was his 13th, and most of us can't imagine cooking 75 hot dogs, let alone eating them all.

Takeru Kobayashi Currently Holds The Record For The Most Hamburgers... And Meatballs... Eaten In A Timed Competition

For the record (literally), the number of hamburgers Kobayashi consumed was 12 in three minutes. That averages out to roughly four hamburgers per minute, which is nearly incomprehensible considering the average number eaten, per person, during a BBQ is a whopping total of one. The competitive eater chose mayo as his topping of choice for each burger.

Kobayashi also holds a record for meatballs, specifically those from IKEA. After one minute, the total meatballs he was able to consume was 29, which is almost one meatball every two seconds. There are plenty of restaurants out there willing to clog a person's arteries, but none quite as fast as a burger-eating competition.

Ortolf Holds Multiple Records For Consuming The Most Jelly In 60 Seconds

The kicker is that he did it with chopsticks the first time, and nothing but his face the second time. The first time around, Ortolf was able to scoop nearly a pound and a half of jelly into his mouth with chopsticks in one minute. The second time, he was blindfolded and had no utensils, and still managed to consume just over 50 ounces... Try fitting all that on a slice of toast.

36 Cloves Of Garlic? Only In 60 Seconds For Patrick Bertoletti

Just when you thought your Italian grandmother couldn't fit any more garlic cloves into her pasta sauce, Bertoletti comes in with a 36-clove record in one minute. The record was broken back in 2012 as the competitive eater somehow overcame the potent stench of vampire-repellent in order to set the world record for the most raw garlic eaten in such a short amount of time.

Didn't Anyone Ever Tell You Not To Eat Grapes With Your Feet?

Kaif ali Khan set a unique record with the help of his lower appendages back in 2018. This recent record was done solely (no pun intended) with the use of his feet, and he managed to eat 65 grapes in only three minutes.

The young record-breaker has a talent for sure, as the feat has never been attempted or accomplished at that speed before. The 19-year-old had practiced for four years prior to attempting his record for the Guinness Book of World Records, taking significant time, dedication, and love for grapes in order to accomplish it.
