Ibis hotels in Geneva and Zurich have launched what they are calling an "Instagram-Sitter" service that invites guests to disconnect from Instagram with complete peace of mind, knowing that their holiday will continue to be immortalized on the photo-sharing site.
The service is aimed at helping guests untether themselves from their phones with the assurance that they can actually enjoy their travels without worrying about the perfect selfie shot. With this service, they can have fun and explore their heart out without Instagram issues.
During the month-long trial run, a trio of influencers has been hired to manage guests' Instagram accounts by posting the best photos and creating Instagram stories on their behalf.
The influencers include Geneva-based lifestyle blogger Cristina Gheiceanu; local radio DJ Sylwina, and Sara Leutenegger, a candidate on Germany's Next Top Model. These social media sitters are well-experienced since most are digital influencers that have a knack for capturing photos. Whether you’re into culture, fashion, or casual elegance, Relax We Post has an Instagram genius match for you. The service is available with the booking of any Ibis hotel room in Geneva and Zurich until Dec 2nd.
If you’re down to book some Instagram assistance, it only takes a few minutes. Go to the Relax We Post website, click on the city you’re traveling to, pick a date, and choose your social media sitter. Following this step, select your hotel, room, and then pay for your stay and the Relax We Post fee, which starts at $90 and up per session. Be sure to confirm your spot ASAP though, since the service tends to book up fast and expires on Dec. 2nd.
Before you get started though, there are some important rules to note. According to the terms of service, you must give the social media sitter access to your Instagram profile during your stay and each post has to have the hashtag #postedbysocialmediasitter. Once you abide by these guidelines, you’re good to use the Relax We Post service.
It's the latest Instagram-related service to launch in the hotel world. Last year, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island launched an "Instagram Butler" service for guests – essentially, a personal professional photographer hired to snap photos for guests in the most picturesque spots, so they can upload them to Instagram.
