Sanrio fans, prepare your stomachs and eyes for a Kawaii feast for the senses: the Hello Kitty Cafes and food trucks are officially on the move. Well, the food trucks are - the cafes are fairly stationary, but are totally worth booking a trip for. However, if flying or driving to California or Nevada isn't an option, then the Hello Kitty food trucks are on their way around the countries to bring the magic to fans across the U.S.

Purchasing food or souvenirs from these locations or trucks is the closest anyone will get to Kawaii in the U.S., and it's certainly an experience to look forward to. This is what to expect when visiting one of these Sanrio food stops.

Hello Kitty Grand Cafe In California

Some of us will remember the Sanrio stores that used to be a staple in any large mall, and when they slowly shut their doors, it seemed that the U.S. had a void in need of being filled. Enter: the Hello Kitty Cafe line. Now, there's no need to travel all the way to Japan - and the birthplace of Sanrio - just to have a bit of kawaii Hello Kitty in one's life. Irvine, California, got its first, and the first, Hello Kitty Cafe about two years ago, and it's the perfect place for fans of this cute cat (and friends). The Irvine cafe is almost too sweet for words, and it all starts with its perfectly pastel pink exterior that beckons fans to its front door.

Once visitors pass under that trademark pink and white awning, they'll be greeted with an entire room that's filled with Hello Kitty-themed decor, items for purchase, and sweets to try. The floor, walls, and ceiling are pink with a pink set of chairs and booths to match, and the photos that adorn the walls are exactly how they would be seen in the TV show and movies. Those who are looking to make memories can even take photos in front of the candy-decorated wallpaper that has the words, 'Have a sweet day!' written across the top in that trademark Hello Kitty script.

The cafe menu, though, is what most people travel for, though. With a wide selection of coffee beverages ranging from fruity iced teas to cafe mocha, and even smoothies and lemonades, there's no shortage of drinks to pep a fan up. Desserts at this cute cafe include:

  • Birthday Cake
  • Strawberry Cake
  • Mama's Apple Pie
  • Chocolate Chocolate Cake
  • Mixed Berry Pocket Pie
  • Donut Macarons
  • Hello Kitty-Shaped Sugar Cookies
  • 5-Piece Assorted Macarons

Those looking for something a little more savory can visit the Hello Kitty Cafe for tea time, during which they'll have access to a menu featuring small tea sandwiches and an extensive list of hot teas. There's even something for adults who are of age, as well - Hello Kitty-themed adult beverages! Kitty, It's Cold Outside or Berry Kawaii are great options. A list of wines and mocktails is also available.
