Many people only recognize the two American Disneyland Parks, the one in California and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It is not hard to understand why these two are the most famous; they are the original ideas of Walt Disney himself, launched in 1955 and 1971. The Walt Disney World Resort, however, tops the list, with more than 60 million tourists visiting every year. Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida

Mounted in Florida’s Orange County, on 25,000 acres of land, this Disney World Resort was Walt’s biggest dream! It was launched in 1971, at the same time the Magic Kingdom Theme Park was opened. The park is almost San Francisco’s size, and there are a lot of offerings to explore. Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most famous vacation destinations on the globe, and it has three other theme parks apart from Magic Kingdom; Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. Together, these parks receive 60 million visitors a year, thanks to their timeless attractions with incredible features, along with some of the most impressive designs ever made. The resort hosts two world-class water parks and is packed with wonderful hotels, beautiful dining spaces, and numerous entertainment options.

Best Time To Visit Walt Disney World Resort

There is never a bad time to visit Walt Disney World, thanks to the introduction of special events occurring annually. The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, held in the fall, and the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, happening in January. However, there are busier months, which include June, July, and August. Other peak times of the year to visit the park include Thanksgiving week, Christmas, New Year, and Easter weeks. Travelers visiting during peak tourist times must be prepared to deal with larger crowds and higher prices. Tourists may also want to avoid visiting the resort during the hurricane season, running from June to the end of November.

Disneyland Resort, California

This is the original park of Walt Disney, launched in 1955, a year after its construction was completed. The original Magic Kingdom's construction began in 154 on 160 acres of land. Disney created a show called Disneyland where he gave people the idea of what to expect, a show that raised part of the funds he used in constructing the Disneyland Resort. This beautiful resort was extended by establishing Disney California Adventure Park in 2001. Disneyland, unlike other theme parks across the globe, does not have many attractions outside the parks. Its biggest land extension occurred in 2019 when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge was launched.

The Best Time To Visit The Resort

If visiting for lower crowds, then plan a visit from mid-September through mid-November, before people break for Thanksgiving. Another good time to visit for lower crowds is mid-January through mid-March before the Easter week arrives. Since the park is less busy at these times of the year, it is when it's ideal to explore the resort.

Tokyo Disney Resort, Japan

For a Disney fan, visiting Tokyo Disney Resort should top the bucket list. Situated in Urayasu, Tokyo's east side, Tokyo Disney Resort has from being a single park to a magnificent showpiece, boasting numerous lands in Tokyo Disneyland and various ports of call in DisneySea, all linked by a monorail. The theme park is based on Walt Disney's films. Launched in 183 as the first Disney theme park outside the U.S., Disneyland is designed after the one in California and Florida's Magic Kingdom. Tokyo Disneyland consists of seven themed lands, featuring unique decorations and parades. The themed lands include:

  • World Bazaar: Mounted at the park’s main entrance, this themed land is lined with colorful shops and restaurants, and serves as the major shopping spot in the park.
  • Tomorrowland: This land features the themes of future technologies and outer space and is home to Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters, and Star Tours, some of the most famous attractions in Japan and beyond.
  • Toontown: This is the spot where the characters of the Disney films reside.
  • Fantasyland: the Cinderella’s Castle and other characters and rides, including Snow White, Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, and Peter Pan are housed on this themed land.
  • Critter Country: Characters in the Disney films, such as Br’er Bear, Br’er Rabbit, and Br’er Fox call this place home.
  • Westernland: This themed land is home to Big Thunder Mountain, a popular rollercoaster.
  • Adventureland: As the name suggests, this themed land is a perfect spot for adventures, and travelers can experience the Swiss Family Treehouse and have a wonderful time sailing with the Pirates of the Caribbean.

How to Get Around

Just a five-minute walk from JR Maihama Station gets travelers to Tokyo Disneyland. Also, along the Disney Resort Monorail, visitors can walk a few steps from the Tokyo Disneyland Station to get there.

Disneyland Paris

Considered Europe’s most popular tourist attraction, Disneyland Paris has two parks, the main Disneyland Park, which comprises five distinct lands, and Walt Disney Studios Park, based on a movie theme. The entire resort is walkable, and the two parks are close to each other, about a three-minute walk.

  • Adventureland: Here, travelers can enjoy sailing with the Pirates of the Caribbean, and explore the scary cave, pirate ships, steamboats, and treehouses, making an incredible spot for adventure.

  • Main Street USA: This themed land features incredible buildings, a City Hall, and a railroad station. The place also offers a beautiful shopping area to grab some snacks.
  • Walt Disney Studios Park: This park has five areas, including the Toon Studio, Production Courtyard, Front Lot, Toy Story Playland, and Backlot. This is the perfect place to experience the lifestyle of Hollywood, and get lost in some of one’s favorite movies.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

Launched in 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is the smallest of the Disneyland Parks and features just one theme park. Travelers can experience some Chinese elements, such as the Chinese Restaurant located on the resort's Main Street. Dating back to the 19th century, this restaurant has Chinese table service. This resort comprises fantastic views and vistas, an incredible food scene, fascinating history, and unique entertainment.
