The Travel Channel has many series that range from realistic to totally made up. One of the shows that have gotten our attention is Ghost Loop, which started airing back in January 2020. The cast members are Matt Lytle (who focuses on technology), Eric Vitale (design), Chris Califf (who focuses on technology and research), Kris Star (an empath), and Sean Austin, who is described as a medium and paranormal investigator.

There may have been some creepy things going on while people filmed Ghost Huntersbut we're not so sure about Ghost Loop. Here's why Ghost Loop is the Travel Channel's fakest show.

A Real Investigator Says These TV Series Don't Show The Reality Of Looking For Spirits

There are many reasons why a TV series focused on looking for spirits isn't actually real. Vincent Amico, who has run the AZ Paranormal Investigations and Research Society which his wife since 2014 and has over a decade of experience, said, "It never happens like that." In reality, if you're someone who searches for ghosts and that's your job, that could be months of hard work. But on this type of show, it'll be a much briefer time period, like hanging out overnight in a house that is said to be "haunted."

USA Today explains that the biggest problem is that when you watch this type of TV show, there will be a super loud slamming of a door and maybe a cast member will say that a ghost came up to them. Vincent continued, "There’s no way to prove he wasn’t touched, or that someone off-camera didn’t slam the door.” We've all heard ghost stories from people staying at hotels, but we might not hear tales of people living in houses with spirits, but we definitely want to see a lot more on camera. Otherwise, why are we watching a show and not reading a story?

Things Are Definitely Exaggareted For The Camera

According to Skepticalinquirer.org, it seems like things on Ghost Loop are exaggerated for the camera. For instance, the article writer who was reviewing the first episode wrote, "I was convinced that over-the-top drama was what they were going for. At least four of the five cast members make it obvious they’re vying for the most time on camera rather than trying to figure out the cause of the homeowner’s experiences."

The People On 'Ghost Loop' Don't Show A Vast Knowledge Of The Paranormal

Skepticalinquirer.org says that there is another issue Ghost Loop: the people aren't really well-versed in the language or actions of the paranormal. For instance, the "experts" don't use EMF meters the way that they should. If you watch the first episode, you see the cast members using a Mel-Meter. As this website explains, "it reads the strength of an electromagnetic field on only one axis at a time, and therefore must be rotated on all three axes to obtain an average measurement. Because they move the meter around the door on only one axis, they are not getting an accurate measurement."

Skepticalinquirer.com says that you don't see the cast members witness "black smoke" and "bangs." They just walk through the home to see if anything seems off. That's not exactly proof that anything supernatural was happening, right?!

If we're interested in the supernatural, we can definitely agree that Ghost Loop is a fake show on the Travel Channel. We should look elsewhere if we want real stories of the creepy things that people have witnessed.
