You may typically look to New York or Chicago when it comes to stunning skyscrapers, but an underrated state to consider is sunny Florida. Sure, Florida may be the state of alligators and Mickey Mouse, but it's also home to some pretty impressive structures. In fact, Florida has a total of thirty-seven buildings that reach or exceed a height of 550 feet.

While a majority of these towers were built in Miami, you can also find some in Tampa and Jacksonville. If you plan on traveling to Florida anytime soon, you should consider checking out some of these awe-inspiring towers on your trip. Here are the top ten tallest buildings in Florida.

10 Mansions At Acqualina - 643 feet

Wouldn't it be nice to have a place overlooking the beach? The condos in the Mansions at Acqualina building tower over Sunny Isles Beach, and they certainly provide an impressive view as they reside in a 643-foot tall building. Even more impressive is the indoor art, architecture, and amenities that come with a residence in this building.

In fact, residents have access to a private cinema, on-site spa, and even an area where you can play golf virtually. Of course, you can't enter private residences, but you should definitely check out the glamorous lobby with its 26-foot arched ceiling.

9 Wells Fargo Center - 647 feet

Formerly known as the Met 2 Financial Center, the Wells Fargo Center is 647 feet and was completed in 2010. While many offices are located here, there are also many dining options and places to just sit and look out at the astonishing view that tourists are welcome to indulge in.

A fun fact about this tall building is that a tall man helped build it -- basketball star Shaquille O'Neal formed a real estate firm called The O'Neal Group. The first project the group undertook was the Metropolitan Miami project in the central business district of downtown Miami -- a project that the Wells Fargo Center was a part of.

8 Muse - 649 feet

If a condo at Mansions of Acqualina isn't extravagant enough for you, you can always check out the Muse building. Like the Mansions, this building houses condos overlooking Sunny Isles Beach, but stands at an even taller 649 feet.

Designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, the building is super luxurious with 68 units that each contain a sculpture by Heidon Xhixha. Residents of Muse feel like they're living in the future, with speakers built into the wall of every room that can connect to their music accounts. Not to mention, residents can simply use an app to "order" their car from parking.

7 900 Biscayne Bay - 650 feet

900 Biscayne Bay is another impressive residential skyscraper in Florida. At a whopping 650 feet tall, the building is 1.5 million square feet and consists of 516 condos (alongside 800 parking spaces.) The first three floors of the building are totally tourist-ready, though, with places to shop and dine.

If you're a resident, however, you have access to a climate-controlled therapy pool as well as a concierge and valet service. If you don't have millions of dollars to spare, you'll just have to settle at their cafe with a great view.

6 Paramount Miami Worldcenter - 700 feet

You guessed it: this ginormous building is considered home for tons of people with big bucks. The first few floors, of course, have shopping and dining opportunities. The tower also boasts the largest amenity deck in the entire United States, so it has that going for it.

People aren't making a big deal out of this record-setting deck for no reason -- the 90-foot deck has the country’s first-ever outdoor soccer field to be featured in a high-rise residential development. Not to mention two tennis courts and a pool alongside multiple bungalows.

5 Marquis - 703 feet

If you can't afford to buy a residence at the Marquis in Miami, you may be able to swing a hotel room there. The first three floors of this tower are places to shop, while floors five through fourteen can be booked for a short stay.

All the floors above that, however, are for the long-term residents. If you do happen to be one of the lucky few who can afford a luxury condo, here's what the Marquis has to offer you: high-speed elevators controlled by touch-pad, climate-controlled storage facilities, and 10-20 foot tall ceilings. There's also the view, of course.

4 One Thousand Museum - 709 feet

The One Thousand Museum building was only completed just this year. Though it has the word "museum" in its name, it's actually just high-rise condominiums -- the building got its name from the park across the street, Museum Park.

It was designed by the legendary architect Zaha Hadid, who unfortunately passed away before she could see the finished product. The unique curving of the structure gave this building the nickname "the scorpion tower." These condos are clearly targeted for the most elite, considering there is literally a private rooftop helipad for residents to use!

3 Southeast Financial Center - 764 feet

The Southeast Financial Center -- once known as the First Union Financial Center and the Wachovia Financial Center -- held the title of "Tallest Building in the Southeastern United States" from 1983, when it was constructed, until 1987.

You may recognize this iconic building from the Wesley Snipes film Drop Zone or from multiple episodes of the hit television show Miami Vice. This 55 story, 1.2 million square foot building houses multiple restaurants, offices, and hotels. The tower is also environmentally friendly, having been awarded LEED-EB certification at the Gold level by the U.S. Green Building Council.

2 Four Seasons Hotel Miami - 789 feet

The Four Seasons Hotel and Tower was the tallest building in all of Florida for fourteen years until it was only recently surpassed in 2017. With construction costing around $379 million to complete, be prepared to pay up if you plan on booking a room here.

Still, the stay is worth it. After all, you'll have access to a two-acre, rooftop pool terrace that'll give you the best view of the city! While a good chunk of the building is dedicated to the hotel, there are also offices on some of the bottom floors and condos for permanent residents on the higher floors.

1 Panorama Tower - 868 feet

At a stunning 868 feet, the Panorama Tower currently holds the title for the Tallest Building in Florida. Head to downtown Miami to catch a glimpse of this 85-story structure that includes residential, hotel, retail, and office space.

The City of Miami and the Federal Aviation Administration approved construction of the building all the way back in 2006, but construction was put off due to the recession happening at the time. Fortunately, work on the project began again in 2012 and the tower was officially completed in 2017. If you aren't too scared of heights, a visit to the Panorama Tower will leave you gobsmacked.
