Disney World in Orlando, Florida is home to an incredible lineup of specialty cupcakes. While we’re all for a basic chocolate or vanilla, the parks and resorts here have transcended the standards by creating all sorts of unique-tasting and beautiful-looking cake creations.
While some of these cupcakes can be found at in-park bakeries, others are served at nice restaurants or lunch locations. No matter where you get a Disney cupcake from, though, one thing is guaranteed: It’s going to be amazing.
We’re here to look at just a handful of the places you can score a tasty cupcake at. Here are a few of the best cupcake locations in Walt Disney World Resort.
This cupcake chain, which is inspired by the charm of European bakeries, bakes up a variety of gourmet cupcakes every single day out of Disney Springs.
Flavors include banana, black and white, carrot, coconut, chocolate marshmallow, salty caramel, strawberry, vanilla milk chocolate, and more. Though all of these are delicious, the most famous Sprinkles flavor is the rich red velvet.
If you’d rather skip the line, Sprinkles has a unique cupcake ATM located right outside of the store.
9 Be Our Guest Restaurant
It can be difficult to lock down a reservation at this gorgeous Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant, however, if you’re so lucky, you’ll get the chance to try some incredible cupcakes for dessert.
During the lunch period at this Fantasyland location, you can purchase a delicious Lemon Meringue Cupcake, which is a vanilla sponge cake filled with lemon curd and topped with flamed meringue icing.
You’ll also be given the option of a Triple Chocolate Cupcake, which is a chocolate sponge cake filled with chocolate mousse and topped with a ganache. Your last choice is The Master’s Cupcake, which combines chocolate sponge cake with the “Grey Stuff” (white chocolate mousse with cookie crumbles).
8 BoardWalk Bakery
Disney’s BoardWalk, located in the Epcot Resort Area, is home to a bakery that serves up tasty sandwiches, refreshing beverages, and all sorts of desserts including cupcakes. The bakery’s staple flavors include an Oreo Cupcake and a Strawberry Cupcake. The location is also known for serving up rotating seasonal cupcakes.
Past flavors have included a Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcake, an Orange Cream Cupcake, a Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake, a Candy Corn Cupcake, and a Gingerbread Man Cupcake. They’re all as cute as they are delicious.
7 Trolley Car Cafe
This Hollywood Studios location is known for serving up Starbucks drinks and Disney bakery items. Earlier this year, it was home to a candy-coated Butterfinger Cupcake. Beginning on Nov. 2, it will be home to a Holiday Harvest Pumpkin Cupcake. Right now, this location is serving up a Carrot Cake Cupcake.
This autumn-themed cupcake is topped with orange buttercream, a pumpkin Mickey topper, and a circle of sprinkles. It's moist and delicious, and spoiler alert: It’s actually being served at multiple locations around Hollywood Studios. If you stumble into places like the ABC Commissary, Pizza Planet, or the Backlot Express, you might also be able to get your hands on one of these sugary creations.
6 Creature Comforts
We’re jumping over to Animal Kingdom where this parks’ own Starbucks location is serving up an array of wild desserts including an adorable Zebra Cupcake.
This cupcake features marbled yellow cake, white frosting and is topped with a dollop of rich frosting that has been decorated as a Zebra. We’ve also seen tiger cupcakes and flamingo cupcakes here, so keep your eyes open. The animal decorations are too much fun to miss.
5 Contempo Café
Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a little cafe that boasts a selection of trendy Disney-themed cupcakes.
The Monorail Cupcake has a vanilla base topped with cookie and cream frosting, candy pearls, a chocolate shell piece, a monorail-shaped piece of chocolate, and an oreo. Did we mention its also filled with the cookies and cream frosting?
The location is also home to a staple Mickey Ears cupcake as well as a cycling seasonal cupcake. Past treats have included a Firework Cupcake, a Potion Purple Ears Cupcake, and an Iridescent Cupcake. If you’re looking for an Instagramable treat, this is your place.
4 Roaring Fork
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to a classic American quick-service restaurant known as Roaring Fork. After enjoying chicken and waffles or a flatbread, you’ll want to stop by the bakery to see whatever specialty cupcakes are being served up.
Some of our past favorites include the Oktoberfest Guinness Cupcake (which married a chocolate-Guinness base, buttercream, cinnamon, chocolate covered pretzels, and a chocolate beer bottle) and the Campfire Cupcake (which mixed chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting, chocolate cookie crumbs, chocolate rocks, and toasted mini marshmallows).
Pretend you’re wandering through Epcot’s World Showcase, and all a sudden, you have a cupcake craving. If you’re near the Germany Pavillion, you’re in luck.
The Karamell-Küche shop serves up all sorts of treats loaded with Werther’s Original Caramel. Yes, there are definitely cupcakes.
If you’re more of a frosting person than a cake person, this is the place for you. Though the cupcakes have rotated out over the years, they’re all piled high with thick, creamy frostings and loaded with caramel. Flavors have included a Salted Caramel Cupcake, a Caramel Vanilla Cupcake, and a Caramel Corn Cupcake. It is as sweet and satisfying as it sounds.
2 Main Street Bakery
The Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery is another Starbucks-serving location known for its specialty cupcakes. Though the flavors and decorations have ranged, they’re usually fantasy-themed.
The Cinderella Castle Cupcake and Mermaid Cupcake were beautiful, but we’re really digging the Amuck Cupcake on display right now.
This candy cupcake is filled with caramel sauce, topped with peanut butter chips, chocolate candy bits, and toffee, and frosted with chocolate buttercream. It also features a festive Hocus Pocus-themed chocolate decoration.
1 Fountain View Cafe
Yes, we have one final Starbucks-bakery location to look at, and that’s the Fountain View Cafe in Epcot.
This place is always pumping out new cupcake creations that are definitely too sweet to miss, like the cappuccino chocolate cupcake or the Spaceship Earth Cupcake, decorated like the Epcot park icon and featuring a vanilla cake with strawberry filling.
Though all the Disney cupcake locations are frequently swapping up their treats, they’re worth checking out no matter what is featured at the time. You’ll find cupcakes worth tasting (and photographing) at every single place.
