Disney Resorts are taking a step into the technological world this summer.
The company has launched a new app called My Disney Experience, which allows park visitors to access specialized maps for directions, diner reservations, wait time estimates for rides, and most recently, mobile restaurant ordering.
Disney Springs, the prime location for dining, entertainment, and shopping at the Orlando resort, has long been known for having the best snacks and sweets - and wait times at restaurants are proof. But this summer, Walt Disney World will be giving app users exclusive content in the food variety, as a perk and incentive for downloading and using the app during your visit.
As visitors make their way through the park and hunger strikes, all they need to do is open the My Disney Experience app and order from popular park restaurant D-Luxe Burger - complete with a secret menu only available to them.
D-Luxe Burger, known for its gourmet picnic-esque menu items like homemade veggie burgers, chorizo-blend burgers and gelato milkshakes, has added mouthwatering items to its secret menu. Donut-crusted chicken nuggets, a blue cheese bacon cheeseburger, and family favourite BLT are just a few of the unique menu items promised to app users.
My Disney Experience’s new feature essentially lets park visitors use their phone as a FastPass for food, allowing hungry patrons to pay from their phone in advance and skip lines at restaurants - an easy sell considering most would rather enjoy their day at the resort instead of wasting hours in line just to eat.
My Disney Experience promises those who download “magic at your fingertips” and a carefree way to plan and play at Walt Disney World Resort. Outside of a secret menu and advanced ordering at D-Luxe Burger, the My Disney Experience app also offers features like buying theme park tickets on the go, sharing itineraries with family and friends, access to Disney PhotoPass, and mobile shopping for authentic Disney Parks merchandise.
D-Luxe Burger’s secret menu won’t stay secret forever, so cash in on the exclusive offer before the lines for mobile ordering surpass the real life lines. Or, try another secret menu at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort in Orlando.
