How To Get There

Being on Coronado Island, travelers have to get there first – and there are various options to get to the beautiful Island. Visitors can go by boat through the Coronado Ferry departs downtown San Diego at the Broadway pier to the landing point of the Coronado Ferry. From there, one can use a Water Taxi, which is always available on-call. The taxi services are offered from certain points, including the Gloretta Bay Marina, Ferry Landing Marketplace, and Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa.

Visitors can also get to the beach by car. The San Diego-Coronado Bridge joins the city with Coronado Island. Launched in 1969 and measuring 2.12 miles, the bridge allows travelers to get to the most gorgeous beach in San Diego.

Amenities At Coronado Beach

There are public restrooms and showers located near the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. Travelers can also play volleyball at the beach volleyball courts. The beach is accessible even to travelers living with disabilities as beach wheelchairs are also available. At the Hotel del Coronado, close to Del Beach resort, there is an area where travelers can enjoy some good food, rent chairs, and have some cool drinks.

Although not very clear and blue; enough to snorkel, Coronado Beach waters are swimmable and there are no real waves to make it difficult. The waves are mostly gentle, making the beach a great place for a kid to swim and have fun.
