Do you believe in ghosts... or the more accurate question, do you believe in stories of people who claim to have seen ghosts? Just like some of us see every new horror movie and have classic ones memorized while others can't bear them, we all feel differently about spooky tales of spirits.

But even if we don't believe in supernatural figures, there's no denying that hotels can be creepy places. We've probably all felt a chill down our spines when staying somewhere on vacation, or we didn't want to take the elevator and walk to our room alone at night.

These hotel ghost stories are chilling, so let's read them in a brightly lit room (unless we want to save them for when it's dark and give ourselves a good scare...).

This Hotel Employee Hears Loud Noises

People who claim to have experienced some supernatural stuff will often talk about loud noises. They say that these are from spirits who are trying to make their presence known.

We might not believe that... but we'll definitely feel chilled to the bone hearing about someone's experience with noise at a hotel. Someone posted on Reddit and shared, "This past Halloween, I was discussing pizza places with some guests at the desk and suddenly it sounds like something huge slams into the sliding glass doors." They continued, "I’m 6 feet away from the doors. I saw nothing and the glass wasn’t moving either. The guests in front of me didn’t seem to notice but a lady standing behind him was concerned like I was!" There doesn't seem to be an easy explanation for this story, and it's very creepy.

Thanks To A Legend Of A Little Girl That Came True, This Employee Quit After Six Months

According to a post on Reddit, there's a hotel that has a legend of a little girl, and an employee had to leave after six months because they saw it come to life. They said that while they were training, they were told to check out the hotel at a few different points each night. Their trainer said to avoid the mirrors when doing this walk-through "because if I saw 'something' I wasn't allowed to scream." Okay, this is already making us very nervous...

After a few nights working at the hotel, this employee saw a child who was wearing a red cloak staring at them through the hotel's front door, which was glass. They wrote, "Words don't do the face justice. Let's just say it wasn't the face of a living, breathing child." They were with another employee and they were both totally freaked out. The person training them left right away to find another job, and then the manager told the story of how haunted this hotel was.

The hotel was a mill back in the day and became a hotel in the '70s, decades after a young girl died in the elevator shaft in the '40s. As the poster on Reddit explained, "The owners of the hotel didn't want this advertised because they were trying to project the image of a four-star hotel...NOT a haven for ghost-hunters (her words)." Yeah, we don't think we want to stay at this hotel...

This B&B Owner Has A Chilling Tale Of Children's Footprints

Ready for another chilling ghost story? This comes from someone who owns a bed and breakfast that has been around for 125 years. They shared on Reddit that the supernatural things they experience regularly aren't a huge deal: "Hearing my name called when I know I'm alone, glasses falling off of tables, footsteps on the stairs." Hey, we wouldn't love these things as they would seem pretty scary.

The B&B owner went into more detail and told a freaky tale of children's footprints. They said that when the hotel was getting retiled one time, there weren't any guests staying there and the only other employee was someone who worked in maintenance. The owner shared, "We walk in one morning to see a child's footprint in the dust by a window, but under a luggage rack. Clear as day. We don't allow children on the property, so there's no way it was a residual imprint. And it was significantly smaller than anyone who works there. That one freaked us out a bit."

How are we feeling about reading about these haunted hotels and the supernatural stories that people have experienced? And we thought that the scariest thing in a hotel was finding an old TV that didn't have any good channels. Let's hope that we can get some shut-eye tonight...
