The Caribbean has never lost its beauty, even after the sudden and massive influx of tourists in the region. It is the prime destination for those who seek that tropical lifestyle and remains popular even among solo tourists who want to get away from all the hustle and bustle. Because in the Caribbean, there's always something for everyone.

Everyone can agree that accommodation is the most important thing to consider, especially if you're planning a solo adventure. While some resorts live up to the hype, others fall short of expectations. And today, we are counting them down.

From resorts that maltreat their customers to a heavenly getaway that is the center of peace, we present to you six Caribbean resorts that treat solo travels poorly, plus five that treat them royalty.

11 Allegro, Cozumel: Complete And Utter Disaster

Allegro Cozumel tops this list for being one of the most horrible resorts you'll find in the Caribbean. Family or solo, they find a way to somehow ruin your vacation. Not only is the water quality like sewage but you'll find plenty of reviewers lambasting the resort on every major forum.

10 Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort: Boring Nightlife

The pools and the beach have some things going on during the day but once the sun sets, you'll hardly be able to find any kind of entertainment or even a companion in this resort (now known as Moon Palace). Their food makes guests ill and the staff has no desire to do its duties.

9 Breezes Resort And Spa, Bahamas: Stuck In The '70s

Breezes takes the cake for being the most unwelcoming and outdated resort in the region. A solo traveler on Trip Advisor recalled his leisure trip that took a turn for the worst: the beaches were full of garbage, the chairs aren't enough to accommodate all guests, and the food will most certainly make you ill.

8 Oasis Palm, Cancun: Staff Won't Give A Darn

At Oasis Palm, it's survival of the fittest according to some reviewers from Trip Advisor and even if you're traveling solo, you'll never feel alone (we mean that in a bad way) because the walls in the rooms are so thin, you can expect an annoyance every night and the bathrooms are so rundown, even faucets let out a yellowish fluid.

7 Grand Bahia Principe, Jamaica: Lousy Housekeeping

From the day you arrive to the time you leave, anything you do is an inconvenience to the staff of Grand Bahia Principe. That's what half of Trip Advisor reviewers say. If you want some of that world-famous Jamaican hospitality, then don't book here. The resort is too big that it looks deserted and everything is dead after 11 PM.

6 Royal Decameron Club Caribbean, Jamaica: Unsafe And Offers Nothing Special

Finally, one of the resorts singles will have the most displeasure to stay at is the Royal Decameron. The resort has it all: from a terrible man-made beach to staff who ignore guests to beds as hard as rocks. In addition to that, guests will certainly leave the resort in disgust and as such, should be reclassified as a 1-star accommodation.

2 Chic By Royalton Resorts, Dominican Republic: Superior Facilities

If you want that "me time" with a touch of luxury, Chic is the one for you. According to a solo female, "a great place to make friends and let your hair down."
