One of the most famous mysteries, the Lizzie Borden case, continues to enthrall mystery lovers from all over the world. The Lizzie Borden House, the site of the 1892 murders of Lizzie’s father and stepmother, Andrew and Abby Borden, operates as a museum, ghost tour hotspot, and bed and breakfast today. One doesn’t have to stay overnight in the Lizzie Borden house to get the full effect. The home also offers three different tours, a Ghost Tour, a House Tour, and a Ghost Hunt, in which guests can learn about the Bordens, their murders, the subsequent trial, and about the various ghost sightings reported on the property.

For an extra bit of spookiness, guests can tack on an extension to the tour, in which guides will take them down to the basement — the place where the murder weapon, an ax, was found! Bed And Breakfast

Only the bravest of people would consider sleeping in a house full of ghosts, much less the same room where a murder took place! The Lizzie Borden house offers several different rooms to choose from, including the quarters where the live-in maid stayed, Lizzie and her sister’s rooms, and the room where the murder of Abby Borden took place.

Lizzie & Emma Suite

A suite featuring two adjacent rooms is the Lizzie and Emma Suite, where Lizzie Borden and her sister Emma slept during their stay at the Borden house. Lizzie’s room features a queen bed, while Emma’s room has a full bed.

  • Sleeps up to five guests
  • Pricing: $275 per night for two people | Additional guests: $125 per person per night, with a max of two guests | A roll-out bed can accommodate a fifth guest for $75 per night

Bridget Sullivan Room

Located on the third floor, the maid, Bridget Sullivan, resided in this room. Known as “Maggie,” the maid is thought to have conspired with Lizzie to kill Mr. and Mrs. Borden, as the two women were the only people in the Borden house during the murders.

  • Pricing: $250 per night for two people | Additional guest: $75 per night on a roll-out bed
  • Note: All rooms on the third-floor share one bathroom, and they each have one full-sized bed.

  • Sleeps up to three guests
  • Pricing: $300 per night for two people | Additional guests: $75 per night on a roll-out bed
