2 Old Bahia Honda Bridge Trail, Bahia Honda Key

Bahia Honda Bridge trail is both historic and scenic. While the bridge itself is an engineering marvel, the history surrounding the massive infrastructure makes it even more interesting. It was constructed in the early 1900s as part of the Overseas Road which was an extension of the Florida East Coast Railway to Key West. The bridge served as the principal route to Key West until it was destroyed in 1935 by a hurricane. The short trail at the bridge follows the remains of the old Bridge and extends to the highest point on the bridge where visitors will be presented with an unparalleled view of the ocean and the nearby Marina.
