Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is filled with tons of delicious dishes, and yes, mac and cheese is definitely a part of the incredible lineup. There are all kinds of mac and cheese dishes at all four Disney parks, the Disney Springs entertainment and shopping center, and even various Disney resorts. While we'd love to look at every single one of these, today, we're looking at 10 of the best.
From a simple cup of creamy mac to over-the-top mac and cheeseburgers, here are 10 of the best mac and cheese snacks and entrees at Disney World.
10 The Friar’s Nook
This quick-service Fantasyland staple is known for two things: its tater tots and its mac & cheese.
While you could opt to get the delicious Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese, the one thing that is better is the Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots. This dish has pasta topped with warm cheese sauce, a ring of tater tots, a mound of bacon, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkling of green onions. Yes, it is as mouth-watering as it sounds.
9 Mac & Cheese Truck
The West Side of Disney Springs contains a permanent food truck location. While the cookie dough and street taco food trucks are to die for, there’s nothing quite like the mac and cheese one.
This location serves up basically every type of mac & cheese you could think of. From Barbecue Brisket Macaroni and Cheese to Lobster and Shrimp Macaroni and Cheese and even Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni and Cheese, you can find something to suit your palette, no matter what you’re in the mood for.
8 The Polite Pig
Also located in Disney Springs is a barbecue joint known as The Polite Pig. While this casual dining location is known for its smoked pork shoulder, chicken, and baby back ribs, it sells a mac & cheese side that is worth talking about.
Made with aged cheddar and topped with breadcrumbs, you’ll be impressed by how creamy, cheesy, and mouth-watering this classic pasta dish is. Pair it with some of that world-class barbecue, and you’ll be set. Yes, you can smell all the amazing food here as you walk by.
7 Chefs De France
This sit-down French restaurant, located in Epcot’s World Showcase, serves up some of the most gourmet mac and cheese in all of Disney World.
Chefs de France’s signature mac and cheese dish is known as Gratin de Macaroni. It's made with Gruyère cheese and cream, baked until the top is light gold, and garnished with a sprig of rosemary and tomato. Though this dish isn’t being served at the France International Food and Wine Festival booth this year, it has made an appearance in the past thanks to its popularity.
6 Eight Spoon Café
The best place to dig into some mac & cheese at the Animal Kingdom is the Eight Spoon Café. This quick service location, positioned on Discovery Island, serves three different varieties of snack-sized mac and cheese.
First, there’s the traditional Baked Macaroni and Cheese. Next, there’s the smokey Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork. And finally, if you’re looking for something a little tangier, the Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce is the one for you.
5 KRNR The Rock Station
Over by Rock n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios, this food kiosk serves up two different Mac and Cheese cups. The first is the smokey Buffalo Chicken Macaroni and Cheese, which is topped with buffalo chicken crispers, blue cheese crumbles, and green onion. The second is the Chili Macaroni and Cheese, which is topped with salty corn chips.
Can you go wrong with either? Probably not. Paired with the frozen lemonade and coke slushies served here, you’ll be happy either way.
4 Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
This casual dining location, located at The Landing in Disney Springs, serves up a side of Momma’s Mac and Cheese alongside its delicious Southern entrées.
This classic mac is known for combining ooey-gooey cheese with perfectly cooked pasta and then baked until golden brown. It’s topped with a sprinkling of chives and served fresh out of the oven. It's a lot more upscale than the cheesy pasta dishes you might be familiar with.
3 The BOATHOUSE Restaurant
This Disney Springs location serves up mac & cheese as both a side and an entre. While they’re both savory and delicious, the entree is going to earn you all sorts of fixings.
The Shrimp and Andouille Mac and Cheese combines bay shrimp, smokes sausage, pasta shells, and a spicy cheddar-beer sauce. This dish is both hearty and heartwarming, and with so many other salad and oyster options to accompany it, you’re going to be enjoying every last bite. Three cheers for seafood mac and cheese!
2 Jiko - The Cooking Place
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge sits an incredible restaurant filled with African cuisines. One of the most exotic dishes you can get here is called the Bobotie Macaroni and Cheese. It contains four kinds of cheese, wagyu, almonds, raisins, and Cape Malay curry. This gives the dish an aromatic flavor that is lightly sweet, spicy, and nutty.
The dish pairs well with entrees like the Mrouzia-style Moroccan Lamb Shank and the Cape Malay Seafood Curry.
1 Planet Hollywood
Topping off the list is this entertainment-themed sit-down restaurant at Disney Springs, which stars more than one amazing mac and cheese dish.
First off, the Bacon Mac-n-Cheese Burger is loaded with smoked bacon, six cheese mac-n-cheese cheddar, lettuce, tomato, sauce, crispy onion straws, pickle, onion, and it's all served on a brioche bun. The other signature mac & cheese sandwich, the Pimento Grilled Cheese, has six cheese mac-n-cheese, cheddar, and pimento cheese sandwiched between sourdough bread. Finally, you can, of course, get this incredible mac & cheese served on its own and topped with chicken breast, mushrooms, baby spinach, ricotta cheese, and seasoned bread crumbs.
