Just like the Starbucks coffee flavors, and the best breakfast sandwiches from fast-food chains around the country, Dunkin' has a long history of being a staple in breakfast culture around the world. What started as a simple coffee with a side of a delicious donut has since turned into a coffee empire, on which America truly does run. With all of the power comes responsibility and it's Dunkin's responsibility to provide donuts that are mouth-watering and altogether satisfying... and they've been delivering both for decades.

One thing that everyone looks forward to is the addition of the holiday flavors from Dunkin'. We're not just talking about holiday-flavored coffee (although that does bring a smile to our faces), we're talking about holiday-flavored donuts. Dunkin' has a reputation when it comes to the season changes and major holidays because that's when they release their creative, and sometimes incredibly bold, donut flavors. Out of all the holidays that have produced memorable donuts, these are the ones worthy of ranking... And we're sure you'll probably disagree, so don't 'at' us. Fair is fair!

Frosted Snowflake Donut

It's a classic, an undisputed favorite. The frosted donut is a traditional symbol of Dunkin', a shining beacon of hope for those craving something sweet to go along with their morning coffee. Or, sometimes, it's a comforting snack when midnight rolls around and a 24-7 Dunkin' is holding its doors open for the weary road travelers. No matter when this donut is eaten, the frosted donut will always reign supreme with its perfectly-fried exterior, moist interior, and the perfect balance of sugary sweet frosting on top. The addition of snowflake sprinkles for the holidays just makes it that much more satisfying in a festive way.

The Spider Donut

For Halloween, many saw the addition of this to the drive-thru menu. The Spider Donut gets major props due to the fact that it's not one but two donuts: A munchkin center and a donut exterior. The munchkin itself is supposed to represent the bulbous body of a spider while tiny legs are drawn in icing on the actual donut, but let's be honest... We don't really care what it looks like. The point is that we no longer need to fight the urge to get both munchkins and a donut in the morning - we can have both with a much nice price tag.

Whoa, hold on now, Dunkin'... This was one heck of an addition. For Valentine's Day, Dunkin' rolled out the mother of all filled donuts and didn't hold back in any way, shape, or form. This square-shaped donut broke every single rule out there and had a brownie batter filling and a cookie dough filling that was split right down the middle. It was glazed with a layer of chocolate icing and crumbled pie pieces as a topping. Not much needs to be said about this as the buttercream filling does plenty of that, but it definitely neared the top of the list as one of the best and most memorable.

Spicy Ghost Pepper Donut

Not everyone is a fan of spice (especially on the level of a ghost pepper) which is why the Spicy Ghost Pepper donut fell somewhere halfway down on the list. However, that's not to say that this Halloween-themed donut was brilliant - it was truly innovative. While many other brands took to combining sugar and heat, Dunkin' combined the two in the simplest way possible: With a strawberry-frosted donut and spicy ghost pepper sprinkles. The heat isn't immediate and many might eat it and say, 'where's the fire?' but don't worry, it's coming and when it does, you might want to ask for some milk rather than a latte.

The true holiday flavors didn't climb very high on the list, and that's because it seemed like their flavors were repeated in some way or another. The Frosted Sugar Cookie donut had a similar cookie dough filling as the previous, double-filled donut, with the difference being a topping of crumbled cookies. It was - dare we say - a bit too sweet, making it just an okay seasonal donut.

Not everyone is a huge fan of gingerbread and while this was a beloved holiday addition, it was one that wasn't one that was a hit with those who don't appreciate that classic gingerbread flavor. While the top was frosted with a caramel icing, it was also sprinkled with gingerbread pieces which made it so festive that it only appealed to those who truly go head over heels for gingerbread.

Filled Heart Donuts

A cute addition for Valentine's Day, the heart-shaped, filled donuts made it to the very bottom of the list. While their shape was adorable and came across as a thoughtful gift for the Hallmark holiday, their fillings were the average, basic fillings you could get in any other filled donut. They were delicious and sweet but altogether, nothing too crazy or special.
