Aside from riding the rides and stuffing ourselves with sweets and treats, our favorite part of any Disney Parks excursion is mixing and mingling with our favorite animated stars of the silver screen. These guys are some of the most gifted character performers in the world, and you can't go to a park and not see characters greeting fans and posing for pics. It's definitely a massive element of the park experience.
The character meet and greets are an activity anyone of any age can enjoy. From the young to the young at heart, everyone enjoys getting a hug and a photo op with their favorite characters. Here are ten Disney character interactions that we absolutely adore.
10 The Princesses
We're kinda cheating here, but, let's get real—you couldn't pick just one either. The Disney Princesses are some of the most recognizable faces in animation history. From Snow White to Elsa, these lovely ladies have been the faces of Disney royalty for years.
What little girl hasn't wanted to meet their favorite princess, right? What's also worth mentioning is how drastically different all their personalities are. Disney does not skip on the details when it comes to their characters, and everyone deserves to meet at least one of their famous leading ladies.
9 Captain Jack Sparrow
For those guests not into the princess scene, you could always sail over to Adventureland and rub elbows with the always entertaining, Captain Jack Sparrow. The captain of the Black Pearl can be found towards the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and is always welcoming fans.
Disney really knows how to cast their face-characters, because Captain Jack always has the signature swagger associated with his persona. He's exactly what you'd expect from a swarthy, sea-faring pirate. Definitely visit him next time you make port in Adventureland, you'll certainly have a whale-of-a-tale to tell.
8 Marvel Superheroes
If you're visiting Disney's California Adventure park, be sure to swing by Superhero HQ to visit some of the best and brightest of the MCU. At the time of writing, you can currently geek out with Captains America and Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and attend a dance party hosted by Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord, Gamora, and Groot.
This meet and greet experience is a comic book fan's dream come true. After meeting Mickey and company, you can drop in on some of Marvels most famous faces. After all, who doesn't want to meet their heroes?
7 Mary Poppins
Whether you see her in the Magic Kingdom or in Epcot's U.K. Pavilion, an interaction with Mary Poppins is always practically perfect in every way. Mary Poppins is, in lack of a better term, infectious. There's always something magical about her charm that can get a smile out of anyone.
She can be seen in her Jolly Holiday attire, umbrella included, and she will always be there to promptly greet guests with a smile. Any interaction with the magnificent Mary Poppins is always one for the books. No trip to Epcot would be complete without her.
We were going to include Kylo Ren on this list too but in all honesty, his encounters can be more than a little intimidating. So, we obviously went with the furry and fabulous Chewbacca to get our Star Wars interaction. Of course, having a movie quality suit does help make things all that more believable.
Chewie is always what a meet and greet with our beloved Wookie should be. We see him in the hangar of the launch bay and easily one of our favorite cast member of the Star Wars portion of the park. No matter how far, far away our intergalactic journeys may take us, we'll always make time to see our favorite walking carpet.
5 Launchpad McQuack
We were caught between Launchpad and Scrooge McDuck, but we had to go with the greatest crash-pilot in the Disney canon. A recent edition to Donald's Dinoland Bash, Launchpad joins the party as one of Donald's fellow dinosaur descendants and believe us when we tell you he's more than receptive to his fans.
Launchpad is so fun and friendly he can hardly contain it. Though the fur-characters are not allowed to speak, he always conveys the biggest emotions and is always ready for action. What else can you expect from a Duck of Launchpad's Caliber?
Fresh out of Hawaii and on the run from the Galactic Federation, it's our favorite blue troublemaker, Stitch. Where would Tomorrowland be without this cuddly alien genetic experiment? We don't know either, but we still leap at every chance to spend some time with him.
Stitch is one of the more playful characters in the Disney Parks roster, so don't be surprised if he's a little over-zealous in his greetings. That being said, Stitch's interactions are always fun and entertaining. So, if you're heading to Tomorrowland, don't be afraid to say aloha to Stitch.
3 Pooh and Tigger
If you want a cute and cuddly character experience, look no further than these guys. The Hundred Acre Wood's most popular residents have jumped off the page of their book to greet and welcome guests to their side of the forest. A warm hug from these two will brighten even the gloomiest day.
Guests young and old can enjoy a visit with Tigger and Pooh as they depart from their ride. Pooh is always inviting and giddy and Tigger is bouncy-trouncy-flouncy-pouncy-fun-fun-fun-fun-fun as a Tigger should be. They're both great with younger park-goers, but we'd be lying if some of us adults didn't make a routine visit to their neck of the woods now and again.
For a character actor with some serious moves, you gotta be gettin' Goofy. Goofy is one of the most popular characters in the park, and we'd be lying if we said we didn't understand why. Goofy is always just as fun in person as he is animated, and no one should miss a meeting with this dippy dog.
Goofy is a favorite amongst many a Disney fan, so don't be surprised if he has just as big of a crowd as a certain mouse's queue. Don't let that discourage you, though, as Goofy's interactions are so worth the wait. You'll definitely walk away with a smile.
1 Mickey and Minnie
Was there ever any doubt that Mickey wouldn't make the list? It's practically sacrilegious to go to Disney without getting a picture with the master mouse himself. Of course, we gotta include his best gal, Minnie, as well. After all, it was all started with a mouse.
Mickey and Minnie are the faces of the Disney brand. Of course, they're gonna be the biggest meet and greets. Minnie is always sweet and adorable no matter where you find her on your visit, and Mickey is always an unforgettable experience no Disney fan should go without. Plus, they both give the best hugs out of any characters in the park. Simply put, if you go to Disney, you gotta meet the mice.
