Placing an order at Dunkin' Donuts is now as easy as telling Alexa to do it for you. Simply tell Alexa and pick up your pastries and coffee whenever you so choose.

Although we currently live in a world where technology is advancing more quickly than our ability to keep up with it, there is also a widespread fear that our personal details are out there for anyone to take advantage of. That's why it's somewhat astounding that devices like Amazon's Alexa and Google Home are so incredibly popular.

If you don't own one or the other, then chances are you have had the opportunity to play around with one at a friend's house or with a loved one. What it boils down to is, most of us are willing to sacrifice some aspects of our privacy if it means making our daily lives a little easier and more comfortable; the above devices certainly do that.

Alexa can help around the house by taking on any kind of task. How did people live when Alexa wasn't there in the kitchen to assist? The Amazon product now comes with a handy new add-on. It can now order from Dunkin' Donuts for you.

All you need to do is make sure you have a DD Perks account and an Amazon account and link the two via the Alexa app. Once that's done you can place your order, as detailed on the Dunkin' Donuts website. Alexa will ask which DD location you want to order from, which will be added to your preferred locations list afterward, then you will need to choose your donuts from a list of pre-saved favourites, select in-store pick up or drive-thru, and then the time you would like your order to be ready.

Once that's all done, all you need to do is rock up to the DD store that you selected at the time you laid out and your order will be ready to go. It may not seem like much to some, but it is simply Alexa doing once again what it was created to do. The gadget makes our lives easier in numerous small ways, and this is just another of those. So what are you waiting for? Give it a try for yourselves.
