You can feel as safe as you want in an Airbnb, but when there is a legitimate safe in a hotel, that’s a clear and obvious sign that it’s just a little bit safer (excuse the pun).

Hotels have a better system in place to keep you in the know and also keep you in a position where you don’t have to worry. This is especially true if you’re on the higher floors, contrary to popular belief.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re just renting a room for a few days or an entire house for a week, because it always feels a little bit more homely when you’re in an Airbnb.

If you’re in an Airbnb that has an elevator then fair enough, but that’s always a bit of a rarity.

What is not a rarity is finding an elevator (or lift) in a hotel. It serves as a much easier and simpler way of getting to your room than the stairs, especially if your accommodation has a lot of them.

The stuff that they’re helping you with doesn’t even need to be particularly significant or important, and it might just be you asking whether or not they’ve got a toilet in the lobby.

To borrow a phrase from a popular British supermarket, every little helps, and a lot of hotel staff will go above and beyond in order to assist however you see fit.

If you’re staying in a hotel that is cheaper than your standard Airbnb, then there’s a good chance you should take a second look at the reviews.

If you want value for money and you want an experience that isn’t going to cost quite as much on the whole, then heading for an Airbnb is almost certainly the way to go.

Sure, you’re going to be a little bit more independent, but you’re going to be well aware of that heading into the experience. It may seem daunting when you take the first step, but trust us, it’s worth it.

3 HOTEL - In-House Restaurant

The majority of hotels will have a restaurant of some description, and while you don’t always have to rate the food particularly high, we’d argue that you should always respect the effort.

You’re on your own if you go for an Airbnb unless you’re staying with a family that is nice enough to cook you dinner.

Hotels serve as the easy option and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Most of the time, the restaurants will go above and beyond your expectations, too. The same can’t be said of all Airbnbs.

Whether it be a pod in the middle of nowhere that resembles the Tardis or a studio apartment with a really fresh look to it, there is something distinctly unique about staying in an Airbnb.

In terms of the type of location they rent out, there are just no rules. Sometimes it may quite literally be a converted tent or something along those lines, and you know what? We love that.

It’s late at night and all you want to do is get some food, but if you’re in an Airbnb, you either need to cook something yourself or make the bold decision to venture out and find food in a local establishment.

With a hotel, though, room service is always waiting right around the next corner to take the weight off of your shoulders.

Sure, it can be a bit expensive sometimes, but you’ll feel comfortable knowing that the end product will be decent.
