A Cartoon Network Theme Park Is Coming To Bali In 2020, Featuring Adventure Time, Powerpuff Girls, And More

The Cartoon Network is building a theme park in Bali, which will include characters from Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, and Ben 10. The park is expected to be completed in 2020.

The 10-acre theme park will have water and surf rides, wave pools, an entertainment center, and much more. It is projected to be the biggest water park on the island, and the first featuring an international brand, according to Turner Asia Pacific, which will partner with the MAJ Group to build the park. The theme park will provide both indoor and outdoor attractions, as well as live performances with characters from popular shows.

“Turner and The MAJ Group share the same vision of creating the ultimate family destination in Indonesia, and the entertainment park will combine world-class design with unparalleled Balinese hospitality,” Ricky Ow, President of Turner Asia Pacific, stated. “Above all, it will offer guests genuine fun powered by Cartoon Network, Asia’s leading kids entertainment brand.”

The project is expected to draw more families to Bali. According to Gita Wirjawan, Chairman of The MAJ Group, “We are proud to be Turner’s partner of choice in bringing the Cartoon Network experience to Bali and game-changing the entertainment industry landscape in Indonesia. The new park will enhance the development of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex which will offer a full-suite of leading hospitality and entertainment choices for the whole family. Furthermore, it will further cement Bali as the premier family destination in Asia and one of the world’s top tourist locations.”

The theme park will compete with local water parks, such as Waterbom Bali, Circus Waterpark Kuta and New Kuta Green Park. In Bali, tourism accounts for 80% of the island’s economy. The Indonesian province is renowned for its art, traditional and modern dance, and music, and hosts the annual Indonesian International Film Festival. In 2017, Bali was named the world's top destination by Traveller's Choice.
