700,000 Heures is the world’s first “wandering hotel” that will take you on a new adventure every day and in a new country every six months.

Imagine waking up in Italy, Brazil, or Cambodia, and every morning someone greets you warmly and whisks you off on a new experience. Maybe it’s eating breakfast on the beach. Maybe it’s to see ancient ruins with a picnic amongst fallen temples. Maybe it’s a trip into town to take in the local culture, only to have a band gently serenade a dinner for you and your spouse.

That’s what 700,000 Heures, the brainchild of French entrepreneur Thierry Teyssier, aims to offer. In a first of its kind, 700,000 Heures will be in a new location every six months, and offer patrons a new experience every day--the world’s first “wandering hotel.”

700,000 Heures, by the way, is French for 700,000 hours, or the average time someone in the Western world spends on Earth.

This is far more than just a pop-up hotel and works far more like a roving theater than a stationary accommodation. This makes sense when you consider Monsieur Teyssier’s previous life in the theater and then event management.

Here’s how it works: 700,000 Heures finds a location and sets up shop. That location will be the town of Gagliano del Capo in Italy this September but will change to Cambodia in November, and then Brazil next June. The company purchases or rents accommodation--typically fabulous mansions or villas--for their entire stay, and then packs up and leaves to the next destination.

While there, every day becomes a meticulously orchestrated series of picturesque events. Everything is managed like a play, right down to the cutlery. You might be given some wandering time here and there, but eventually, someone finds you and takes you to the next event, whatever that might be. All of it is done as naturally and seamlessly as possible.

This sort of one-of-a-kind experience doesn’t come cheap. First, you must purchase a membership, which involves an annual fee of $585along with a $2,340 entry fee. That entry fee then gives you a discount of 20% on the cost of whatever destination you choose, which can range from an all-inclusive daily rate of between $1,755 and $2,105 for two people.

A week will cost you upwards of $10,000, but 700,000 Heures promises it will be the most unforgettable week of your life--or the most unforgettable 168 hours of your 700,000.
