This five-day journey will take you from Maine’s largest city, Portland, up its rocky coast and then into its 100-mile wilderness.
Day 1: Portland, ME
Portland is a popular New England destination for all types. The aesthetic of its old mansions, brick sidewalks, and up-and-coming downtown give this city a great feel. From its great selection of food, fun culture, and great location you can find a lot to do in this city. Whether you are more interested in its many breweries or taking a walk along Old Port you will be entertained during the first leg of your journey.

Allagash Brewing Company
Allagash Brewing Company is perhaps the most famous of Portland’s Breweries. They are an independent craft brewer, that came to fame with their signature Allagash White, a Belgian-style wheat beer. However, they have grown what they offer incredibly. They offer an award-winning a wild barrel-aged sour. Beyond beer that has played a major part in their community too, consistently given back. They have even been recognized as one of the best places to work in Maine for seven years.

Day 2: Rockland, ME
Make to leave for Rockland early enough in the day to make it to Home Kitchen Café for lunch. Then you can take the rest of your day to explore this lovely seaside town. The Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse is a great destination to check out and the Rockland Harbor Trail makes for a great walk. If you time your visit right, you may even catch the Main Lobster Festival.

Day 3: Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, ME
Acadia National Park is a stunning coastal park taking up 47,00 acres on Maine’s Mount Desert Island. With scenic rocky beaches, glacier-carved peaks, and covered by woodlands, this is a great location for an outdoor adventure. And once you're tired out from your exploration of the park you can hop over to Bar Harbor and enjoy some Lobster! Rose Eden Lobster and The Travelin Lobster are two delicious choices to choose from.

The Travelin Lobster
This family-operated lobster restaurant is run by the Corson family. They have been lobstering around Mount Desert Island for years. It was first opened in the 1970s by Philip and Carroll Corson. In 2004, they opened a small shack, located at their cottages, that opened seasonally. In 2016, they moved to their present-day location.

Day 4: Gulf Hagas Lower Trailhead Monson, ME
Maine’s 100-mile wilderness is a famous location of endless wilderness that dedicated hikers venture into. For this road trip, The Gulf Hagas Lower Trailhead in Monson is the perfect location for a day hike. This is a 13.2-km loop that takes about 3 hours and 26 minutes to complete. It is a popular trail that is open year-round.

Day 5: Back to Portland, ME
