Vacation spots are getting more and more crowded it seems and one reason for that is social media. It is easy to snap a pic now and post it for everyone to see. But even before social media existed, famous tourist spots have been visited by thousands of people on any given day. They are beautiful, historical, rich in culture, or a combination of the three. Whichever the case may be, there is close to zero probability that any regular person could spot a famous celebrity in any of these popular vacation spots. It's because celebrities are kind of a breathing, walking and talking natural wonder themselves, they kind of like steal the show in a vacation spot whenever they visit one. Although it's not their intention, and although the crowd did not mean to gather around them, it's how it's been since the dawn of Hollywood film and TV. This is why celebrities, especially the A-listers, tend to go to places that no other kind of person can afford to go to.
These places could be secret hideaway spots in popular tourist cities, ultra-extravagant hotels with price tags that no other subpar celebrity can afford. Private resorts, private islands, even islands that they actually own. These celebs defy all logic when it comes to the ultimate vacation spot, how they do it and when they do it we'll never know and understand. These are isolated and secluded spots, even unreachable by the most innovative and resourceful paparazzi. But even the greatest and most secretive celebrity gets found out soon enough. This article will showcase amazing places, vacation spots or secret hideaways that celebrities have visited and spent their vacations on, and what's more amazing, is that they were caught on camera, or they posted the pics themselves.
It's wrong to start this article without mentioning Seychelles. This is a veritable island riddled with celebrities, they travel from everywhere to get to these islands in the Indian Ocean. A group of islands nearest East Africa, Seychelles is a wonderland for celebrities looking to spend a quiet time with their family and loved ones. One such celebrity is Julianne Hough. The multi-talented dancer, actress, and singer spent a honeymoon with husband Brooks Laich on the Frigate Island last year.
26 Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
The Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda sits in the northeastern part of Rwanda, a country located in Africa, just south of the equator. Near this park is an exclusive lodge called the Bisate Lodge where a stay could cost more than a thousand dollars per head, per night, at least. Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi stayed here and trekked their way up the volcanoes to witness gorilla families in their natural habitat. Rwanda is one of the stops in this African vacation the celebrity couple had early this year.

Palawan is a place in the Philippines that is most famous for its beaches and exclusive resorts. One such resort is Amanpulo, a favorite of celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Beyonce. Bill Gates even visited the place once. It’s that kind of resort where you won’t see anyone else, but the service people are there ready for the guests and their needs at an instant’s notice. Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario had a pretty little nice vacation in Amanpulo.

Some celebrities seem to get attracted to the world-class Faena Hotel. Not only is it a guaranteed luxury hotel, but it is also a hotel like no other. It was designed by Catherine Martin and Baz Luhrmann, the Hollywood costume designer and director (respectively) behind The Great Gatsby, and is a glamorous hotel through and through. Forbes Travel Guide has just awarded the famed hotel, for the second consecutive year, with the coveted Five-Star award for 2018. 21 Chalet Zermatt Peak, Switzerland
Luxury vacations do not all come with sand, sun, and waves at the beach. It can also be had atop mountains, in the snow, and while skiing and snowboarding. There is a five-star luxury chalet in Switzerland called Chalet Zermatt Peak. Guests get pampered with two massages per day, personalized breakfasts and a 5-course dinner from a kitchen headed by a Michelin-starred chef. Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, had a ski vacation in Switzerland recently, perhaps she stayed in the luxury chalet?
20 Villa Manzu, Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a country in Central America, right between Panama and Nicaragua. It is a country almost bordered by water, and would normally have famous beaches and resorts. There is one visited by celebrity Kim Kardashian called Villa Manzu. It is an elite resort, called a private residence, offering only eight suites to guests. A paradise in Central America that guarantees privacy and solace, making it a magnet to vacationing celebrities. This was one of many destinations that Kim and her gang visited last year.

At the southern end of Utah lies a gem of a resort called the Amangiri Resort. It’s a resort but instead of an ocean view, there is a magical view of the desert. It’s an exclusive resort that only the richest can afford, it seems. If you’ve watched the Jim Carrey film The Truman Show, you might remember the island that he wanted to escape to. It’s Fiji. Fiji is an island, where Australia is the nearest continent, located in the easternmost part of the Pacific Ocean. One famous celebrity getaway in Fiji is the Laucala Island. It’s a luxurious resort visited by elite guests from all over the world. Fast and Furious star Ludacris had a nice picture of his vacation on the Fiji island.

To the right of Cuba is a country called Turks and Caicos. It’s a small patch of islands that’s a famous destination for celebrities and, in this photo’s case, football, sorry, soccer, dark-haired superstar Leo Messi. The FC Barcelona striker is one of the most recent high profile guests in the Turks and Caicos Grace Bay and Providenciales resorts. He was there three years ago. Other esteemed celebrity guests were late night talk show host Conan O’Brien, singer Alicia Keys, basketball great LeBron James, and singer Rihanna.

The home of the famous film festival is also a hideaway spot of popular celebrities. As a matter of fact, Jay Z and Beyonce’s recent vacation was here in Cannes. Located along the French Riviera, Cannes is not only popular for the ever-prestigious Cannes Film Festival, but it is also a sought-after vacation destination for A-list celebrities. It’s great to be a celebrity! Having a TV show and shooting some episodes at a beach resort halfway around the world, that’s an experience anyone would like to have. The cast of Modern Family, an ABC sitcom currently on its tenth season, flew to the land down under for a holiday episode shooting back in their fifth season. It was business mixed with pleasure for the cast and crew of the award-winning TV show. Of course, they went to the Great Barrier Reef. Some of them may even have toured or stayed at the exclusive Hayman Island Resort.

Ever consistently, Cape Town has been voted as one of the world’s best cities, most recently at number 13 by Travel and Leisure. The Mother City is a popular vacation spot, and in 2016, it was a celebrity couple that spent their honeymoon in the amazing city. American R&B singer Ciara married Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and had their romantic getaway in Cape Town. Other celebrities who stayed and absolutely loved the city were Miley Cyrus, Vin Diesel, and the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson.
Thailand is famous for its beaches and is known as a summer tourist destination all over the world. Celebrities often visit the Asian country for their much-needed break and often have a tremendous experience. Baywatch (the 2018 film) actress Priyanka Chopra visited Thailand for pleasure and business. She shot a commercial for Thailand tourism and had an elephant acting alongside her. The shoot was taken in the Kaziranga National Park. Priyanka recently married longtime boyfriend Nick Jonas of yes, The Jonas Brothers.
Tahiti is located in French Polynesia, it is the largest island there. It also is the venue for a number of great resorts like the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort and the Villa Corallina. Just in October, James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan spent a nice vacation in Tahiti. Save for a shark scare, everything else was perfect for the 007 hunk’s vacay. Other celebrities who’ve been to Tahiti were actress Nicole Kidman, singer Carrie Underwood, and the legendary Godfather, Marlon Brando.
9 Indigo Bay Resort, Mozambique
In Africa, just northeast of South Africa is a country not really known by tourists in general but is a bonafide celebrity getaway spot. The African country of Mozambique is a country facing the Indian Ocean to the east. It was perfect, crystal clear waters and white, powdery sands. There is a resort located in the Bazaruto island called the Indigo Bay Resort. It has beach chalets and villas with abundant marine life right there on the coast. South African rapper AKA spent a wonderful time in Mozambique with his “queen”.
8 Necker Island, the Virgin Islands
Speaking of islands owned by celebrities, the Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands may be one of the most popular ones on Earth. Owned by British philanthropist and business magnate Sir Richard Branson, Necker Island has a long list of celebrity guests since its acquisition in 1978. The 74 acres of land has complete facilities and was a vacation venue for famous names such as Oscar winner Kate Winslet, Harry Styles, Mick Jagger, Harrison Ford, and the former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.
7 Serengeti, Tanzania
How can a celebrity dad wow his children who literally have it all during a summer outing? Try a safari in the Serengeti. This is exactly what David Beckham did for his four children, Harper, Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn. It was summer last year and David flew solo and took his kids on a safari trip. It was a Tanzanian experience the five Beckhams won’t soon forget. They had great pictures of the Serengeti sunset, lions up close, buffaloes and large African elephants.
Twilight actor and heartthrob Robert Pattinson was photographed working out shirtless in the shores of Antigua in the Caribbean. He was running along the beach and reportedly stayed at the Half Moon Bay. Another great celebrity resort in Antigua is the Jumby Bay Island. It’s a 300-acre private island accessible only by boat. Guests can stay in the island resort or in one of the private homes and villas. The resort’s tagline is the ultimate in discreet, understated casual luxury.
The quiet and serene country of Ireland is fast becoming a secret hideaway spot of celebrities. It’s like a favorite honeymoon destination for them. The Beckhams had their honeymoon here, so did Kim and Kanye, and Kris and Caitlyn Jenner. More recently, the Royal Couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent their honeymoon here, too. Sonora Resort is just a helicopter ride away from Vancouver, it’s a secluded resort located north of Vancouver and offers guests wildlife and eco activities like grizzly bear tours and whale watching. It is also perfect for couples getting away and looking for a relaxing time, or an adventurous one. The celebrity couple in this picture might go for the latter. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were in Vancouver at Coal Harbor, they might have just finished wrestling with a grizzly, or fixing to wrestle with one.
Italy offers a number of destinations perfect for celebrities looking for relaxation and time away from the spotlight. There’s the Presidential Suite at Milan’s Hotel Principe di Savoia, very expensive but very exclusive as well. And there is also the amazing Borgo Santo Pietro, a classy boutique hotel with an Italian countryside feel. Jennifer Lopez and beau A-Rod spent a romantic vacation in Italy just recently. They may have spent a night at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, but we’re putting our money on Borgo Santo Pietro, it’s just more romantic.

The country called Oman is not really known for its tourism, but it is where one of the best hotel resorts on the continent is located. The Six Senses Zighy Bay is a hotel resort that is proud of Oman’s rugged beauty. Their most extravagant suite offers a 24-square meter infinity pool, a private wine cellar, and beachfront access and view of the Gulf of Oman. Pakistani actress Aleezay Tahir spent a nice honeymoon in Oman with her new husband.
1 Aman Sveti Stefan, Montenegro
The Aman Sveti Stefan is a small island and resort hotel in one. According to their website, a single night’s stay in their Adriatic Suite would cost a guest around $4,000. This luxury hotel is located in Montenegro on the Adriatic coast. Only the richest of the rich can afford to stay here, just like our famous celebrity couple Victoria and David Beckham. The hotel offers a magical view of the Adriatic Sea and offers spa services in their almost 1,600 square meters spa facility.
