We all love a good whopper every now and then. After all, it is what Burger King is known for and it's by far their most popular menu item. It's not uncommon for the general public to get overly excited when they hear of a new food item coming out (i.e., see the Impossible Whopper); what many don't know is that Burger King menus are different around the world.

Specifically, Japan! Along with the general menu, they also feature some interesting, slightly unique foods that make the rest of the world scratch their heads. Along with the famous black burger, they feature things such as avocado combinations, tuna options, and even a pumpkin burger... Talk about switching things up seasonally.

20 The Ultimate For Garlic-Lovers: Garlic Meat Beast

The Garlic Meat Beast premiered some years ago and still generates a buzz to this day. Translating to 'Garlic Meat Monster' in Japan, these burgers are smothered in fried garlic slices. Additionally, the 'meat' part of its name is also accurate: A beef patty, pork patty, and grilled chicken make up this Italian grandmother's dream burger.

19 The Koru Ninja Burger Is A Twist On The Original

It's impossible to not read about this burger without laughing. The Koru Ninja Burger was the same as the famous black burger, but with a 'tongue'. That's right - the grilled meat hanging out of this burger is supposed to imply that it's sticking its tongue out. It's 100% strange.

18 RiNGO Burger... Which Has Nothing To Do With The Rock Star

It actually has everything to do with a spiced apple slice that's placed atop the burger. So many of us have a preconceived notion that apples belong in pie, but they can be prepared quite savory as well. This spice ring doesn't seem as bad as it looks, and we're sure it tastes just fine.

17 Forget Doubles, We're Talking Five And Six-Stacked Whoppers

It's kind of crazy but if you're hungry enough, why not just slap a few extra patties on your burger? These whoppers are stacked five-high and it's Japan's way of being totally extra. They're not afraid to push limits with this menu and that includes crafting a whopper that's fit for a king... or just several hungry customers at once.

16 Something We'd Expect From California, The Avocado Whopper

We never said that Japan wasn't far ahead of their time (they usually are) and with the addition of avocado, this burger is a semi-heathy twist on the original. A bit of avocado smothered on top of this grilled whopper, and suddenly we're singing our praises to BK.

15 Koru Burger, AKA The Famous Black Burger

The black burger was, admittedly, a bit of a wild gourmet choice for BK. With buns and cheese darkened by charcoal, a black pepper beef patty, and a squid-ink garlic sauce, they were ambitious, to say the least. Finally, burgers to match the overwhelming darkness in our souls.

14 The Spam And Cheese Burger And No, We're Not Kidding

Spam: Not just popular in Hawaii. While it's normal for most of us to envision spam on sandwiches or as a substitute breakfast meat (maybe), Japan took things one step further. Adding a slice of this salty mystery meat to a burger setup was something we didn't know we needed... and maybe still don't need?

13 Pizza And Tuna Corn Pies Have Blown Our Mind

This is not as weird as it sounds, especially for Japan. These 'cakes' are very similar to what we know as empanadas, and they simply contain different fillings. They're not actually tuna cakes or corn cakes, and surprisingly, they're quite good... or so we've heard.

12 A Burger The Size Of A Pizza, The Pizza-Size Burger

Once again, the fusion of two things we never thought we'd witness. Pizza and a burger, yet one truly has nothing to do with the other. Don't get us wrong - this is not a 'pizza burger'. It's simply a burger that's shaped and cut like a pizza. Confused? Yeah, so are we.

11 Forget Pumpkin Spice, Japan Has The Pumpkin Whopper

There's no judgment here, but we're definitely giving some side-eye to this 'Harvest Time' pumpkin whopper. While pumpkin is savory until sugar is added, we're just not sure how we feel about grilled squash interrupting our grilled whopper patty flavor. We'll take one with a side of nutmeg... not.

10 BK Bites: Japan's Version Of Sliders

It's entirely unfair that these exist in Japan and not elsewhere within driving distance. While we do have White Castle, mini BK whoppers sound amazing. The fact that they're called the BK 6-Pack is even more awesome. 'So, what are you bringing to the Super Bowl?' 'Oh, you know, just a 6-pack... of burgers!'

9 Two Words: Avocado Fish

Is it a fish sandwich? Is it an avocado sandwich? No one really knows, but hey, it's a great option for pescatarians. This healthier vibe is something we're definitely digging. This progressive avocado movement is something we can totally get on board with.

8 Tartar Chicken Sandwich Is An Interesting Alternative To Fish

There are those of us who prefer chicken and those who prefer fish but never fear, BK in Japan offers both with the same twist: Tartar sauce. Many of us would be surprised to realize that the rest of the world doesn't use crazy condiments like we do in North America, so it's not surprising that tartar is a one-size-fits-all situation.

7 Cheesy Bites, The PMS Food We All Need

Luckily, these cheesy little bites of heaven can be found in more places than just Japan. They are super popular over there, though, and remain a steady menu item. We'd be hard-pressed to find them on this side of the world, so it's all we can do not to drool over rumors of these hot, cheesy yum balls.

6 Hot Dogs, Not Only For Beach Huts And Concession Stands

They're a staple in New York City, meanwhile in Japan, they're a novelty. Hot dogs vary around the world depending on where you choose to eat one, and while Europe usually goes with sausages over meat sticks, Japan sides with traditional. These loaded dogs are a continuous part of their normal BK menu.

5 The Teriyaki Burger Sounds As Delish As It Looks

Let's face it: Most of us are hopelessly addicted to teriyaki. Slap some between a bun with some grilled onions, crispy lettuce and juicy tomato, and we'll likely be foaming at the mouth. Not surprisingly, Japan offers a teriyaki burger on their regular menu and we're definitely low-key jealous.

4 What's Better Than A Whopper? A Whopper With A Big AF Hashbrown

Is it breakfast? Brunch? Dinner? A combination of dinner and lunch - Linner? Regardless, whoever decided it was okay to slap a crispy hash brown on a burger is either a genius or just leading an incredibly unhealthy lifestyle. Either way, it's probably delish.

3 The Melon Soda Float: Revolutionizing Floats Everywhere

We're not sure we can get totally on board with this one. Melon is a popular flavor in Japan and it's not uncommon to see it used in flavors as well as in scents. However, we're so used to our soda floats over on this side of the world that we never even considered a fruity version... Probably for a good reason.

2 An Uncertain One For Sure, The Bolognese Burger

Sure, we have tons of fusion restaurants. However, two things we don't usually fuse are fast food and the slow-cooking involved in creating an Italian Bolognese sauce. Something that belongs on spaghetti isn't usually something we'd throw on a burger, but crazier things have happened.

1 The Ultra Limited Windows 7 Whopper

Obviously, this limited burger came out some time ago, but it's crazy nonetheless. The seven-patty whopper was dedicated to Windows-7, and we're still trying to figure out a time in our lives when we'd need seven patties at once. After a breakup? Post-failing a college class? The question remains unanswered.
