With the new age of getting rides on demand, it can be hard to see the negatives with taking these services. There are some things to look out for next time you pull up the Uber app and reserve a driver. While Uber ensures that your experience will be a great one, there are some things that happen under Uber's radar. These things usually happen when a driver is a bit sketchy. Sometimes these things are obvious but other times they can be happening without notice. These are some of the things that Uber drivers do that can easily land them a one-star rating next time they try them.

20 In The Wrong Headspace

Many Uber drivers use Uber as a second form of income. That means that sometimes they are coming off of long shifts only to then drive for another six-hour shift. While some people can handle this amount of work others sometimes need a helping hand. Whether that is specifically driving with a little OTC help or simply dozing off, you won't want to be in the same car as these drivers.

19 Lunch Time

As mentioned before, some drivers use Uber as a secondary job. However, there are a few drivers who can manage to make it their only job. This usually comes with the cost of long shifts and even eating while you work. However, eating and driving has been proven to be distracting and can cause reckless driving.

18 Breaking Speed Records

Everyone has been in a car when they were running late but that isn't an excuse for speeding. This idea still seems to slip through the cracks especially when you are dealing with Uber drivers. Uber drivers aren't paid hourly but instead, are paid per ride they accept. That means they are trying to drop you off as fast as possible. Sometimes within the law and sometimes not.

17 Asking For Praise

This isn't as bad as some of the other entries as it doesn't immediately spell out doom for the passenger but it can be annoying. During a ride, Uber drivers use different tactics to try and get a good rating and sometimes even a tip. However, when they are less discreet about it, it can become annoying and dishonest.

16 Wading Through Trash

One of the telltale signs that an Uber driver is sketchy is if their car is a mess. When driving for Uber it is important to keep a professional looking car. However, you can catch a few Uber drivers forgetting this and next thing you know the passenger is sitting next to an old fry container from McDonald's.

15 Fast Food Isn't Always Fast

As mentioned before, Uber drivers will sometimes work through lunch and get hungry. Many drivers will pause and get lunch while out but some think they can cheat the system and simply get food on their way to pick up a passenger. This is bad not only for the driver but the passenger as you never know what could happen in a drive-thru. This creates a huge chance for a driver to be late.

14 Wrong Address

Uber recommends their drivers use GPS to find their way to a destination. However, sometimes the driver will ignore the GPS or simply put in the wrong address, to begin with. This can be frustrating especially for someone who is trying to be on time to an event.

13 Family Road Trip

This may be one of the more frustrating parts of Uber. There is no set in stone rule of allowing friends or family to be in the car with the driver while they work. Therefore, when an Uber driver picks up a passenger they could also have any number of other people already in the car. This is frustrating for people with social anxiety or people who simply want a peaceful ride.

12 Driving Without Safety Belt

Uber drivers can be stubborn. Stubborn drivers usually disregard safety and even the law in some cases. Some Uber drivers have been reported to not wear their seatbelts when picking up passengers. If they aren't willing to regard their own safety chances are they don't really care about their passenger's safety either.

11 Taking Shortcuts

The Uber driver isn't the only one who might want to get to the destination quickly and that is fine. However, the driver and passenger still want to get there alive. Some Uber drivers will want to take shortcuts and completely ignore what the GPS app says. This can not only get the passenger lost but it can also be dangerous.

10 Blasting Irritating Music

Getting into an Uber and immediately hearing music isn't always a bad thing. In fact, that is often a sign that you are in for a quiet ride as far as conversation goes. However, there have been instances where Uber drivers have no regard for anyone else in the car and blast their music. Any music that is too loud can be considered irritating music so it usually doesn't matter what genre.

9 Too Many Passengers

Uber has been better at monitoring the number of passengers in one car by implementing features such as UberPool. However, some Uber drivers simply see dollar signs and will take on several Uber trips at one time. This is especially true if a passenger is on the way to the destination of another passenger. This can be frustrating for both parties. There is a reason ride-sharing exists.

8 Canceling Way Too Late

It can be very frustrating when a driver confirms a pickup and cancels almost immediately. It becomes even more frustrating when a driver cancels after almost 10-15 minutes of waiting. This usually doesn't occur that often but emergencies happen. However, sometimes Uber drivers simply take on more than they can handle and will have to cancel some rides.

7 Driving Recklessly

Uber drivers don't have to pass any driving test in order to start driving. As long as their driving record is clean they can start driving. While this does exclude some bad drivers, other bad drivers simply get lucky and still drive recklessly no matter what. This can be especially frightening when there is a passenger in the backseat with no control over the situation.

6 High Speed Chase

There have been some cases reported of Uber drivers getting pulled over while there is a passenger in the car with them. These cases are usually a simple speeding stop but other times it can be much worse. It doesn't always look the best when an Uber driver gets pulled over and it likely means they won't be getting a very large tip.

5 Hammer Time

There was a specific case of an Uber driver attacking one of his passengers. Obviously this isn't an everyday occurrence but it goes to show the background process Uber goes through to choose its drivers. Passenger Roberto Chicas simply told his driver that he was taking him the wrong way and this sent his driver into a frenzy where he began to harm

4 Targeting Competitors

With the invention of ride-sharing, there have been many new companies hitting the markets. Uber is in direct competition with Lyft and other cab services. However, for the Uber drivers themselves, it comes down to getting rides before another Uber driver does. This means an Uber driver could aggressively try to get more passengers while driving a passenger they already have. This leads to dangerous driving and overall bad sportsmanship.

3 Aggressive Tips

Uber drivers have been known to come up with creative ways to ask for tips. Many put small treats in their cars for their passengers. Others set up whole entertainment systems with TVs in the back of their car. This is a fine idea and most of the time it works. What doesn't work is simply asking a passenger for a tip and being very blunt.

2 Ignoring The Passenger

Uber drivers aren't obligated to talk to you throughout the ride. However, if they are searching for a decent rating and a tip they will likely try and strike up a conversation with the passenger. This isn't always the case as some Uber drivers will ignore the passenger from the time they get in, to when they get out. This can come off as rude and greatly affect someone's ride experience.

1 Denying Customers Due To Dumb Reasons

Bias and discrimination have always been present in the workforce and Uber is no different. Uber drivers typically don't choose their passengers based on anything besides their destination. However, there have been some cases of drivers not giving rides to people for dumb reasons. These reasons range from the way they look to the way they greet the driver.
