George Clooney was ever the bachelor with a ginormous villa by Lake Como, but little did he know when he bought it in 2002 that 11 years later he would meet the woman of his dreams in his own home. 20 Their Italian Getaway
George and Amal's gorgeous Italian home is the eighteen-century Villa Oleandra, in Lagilo Lake Como. George fell in love with the villa and consequentially bought this in 2002 (and the neighboring house in 2004) before even meeting Amal to spend his time during the summers. And no wonder why, the stunning architecture, the luxurious setting, lush botanical gardens and gorgeous views over the lake and alps. The couple is now enjoying family time with their small children and its safe to say that there is plenty of space in the historical villa for toddlers to run around and for the parents to wind down.

Lake Como is the third-largest lake situated in the northern parts of Italy and is known worldwide and have been for hundreds of years for its beauty. As a tourist destination, Lake Como is popular for its landscapes, wildlife, spas, and different activity such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Besides being a tourist attraction it’s also the home of many famous people and have been a popular spot since the Roman times. The lake’s beauty has also made it a cultural landmark and is the setting of many books and movies such as James Bond : Casino Royale, Miss Julie and Oceans Twelve.
18 Close to Home - UK
Since 2014 Amal and George Clooney have lived in their home in Sonning-on-Thames, Berkshire, England. Their home is set on four acres of land and allow the high-profile couple plenty of privacy while still being close and accessible to London. Far away from the Hollywood lifestyle many would suspect the married couple would live, the small village is the hub for Amal and Georges incredible careers and the home for their twins Ella and Alexander. In 2014 the entire Hollywood elite flew to Venice Italy to celebrate the fairytale wedding of the ever bachelor George Clooney to the human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. George and Amal are the parents of one year old twins Ella and Alexander, becoming parents later in life has proven to be a happy adjustment for the pair that is managing to juggle a happy family life with two very successful careers. The parents are understandably very protective of their children's safety and when they were newborn paparazzi truly invaded the family’s privacy and by illegally snapping pictures of the twins at their home in Lake Como. When George released a statement he made it absolutely clear that he was not taking things lightly and said ”Make no mistake the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 14 Enjoy the simple life in Italy - Driving a vespa
When the Clooney’s are staying in Italy they often leave their luxury cars at home and are frequently seen driving a vespa, both together or it's George by himself. It’s the most quintessential Italian way to get around and is a way for the couple to (almost) drive around incognito. But as the picture shows they always play it safe by wearing helmets. In fact, summer of 2018 George was in a serious accident where a car drove into his motorcycle and he flew off the bike and hit the windshield. His life was pretty much saved all thanks to him being clever and wearing a helmet, he could leave the hospital and was seen boarding a plane after a few weeks.

As one of the most famous couples in the world the A-listers are frequently invited to glitzy galas all over the world and Italy is no exception. They were first seen after having their twins at a gala in Venice. The pair is also often seen at Georges different job-functions but in 2018 Amal was chosen to co-host the prestigious MET-gala in New York together with VOGUE editor in chief Anna Wintour. Amal Clooney had a very successful career before ever meeting George, as a human rights lawyer. Mrs Clooney is qualified to work in the United States and the United Kingdom and has also worked in the international courts in The Hague. Her Resume is more than impressive, for example she has been an advisor to Special Envoy Kofi Annan on Syria, her list of clients include Julian Assange (founder of WikiLeaks) and adviser to the King of Bahrain. Mrs Clooney has worked on many high profile cases and teaches Human Rights at Colombia University. This is a real boss lady in it’s right definition.

One of many things that Amal and George Clooney are famous for are their fashion sense and living part time in Italy there is no wonder that both of them have taken Italian fashion and fashion designers to their heart. 5 Meeting with the Pope
The Clooney's are truly rubbing shoulders with the worlds-elite, and not only as guests at the Royal Wedding. They were in 2016 invited, amongst other celebrities, to be honored at a conference held by Pope Francis. The Pope wanted to acknowledge the celebrities in their help with making the world a better place. He reminded the celebrities of their responsibility to ”help the world recover the language of gestures”. The organization that held the conference is a Vatican education initiative to help poor communities. Clooney together with Salma Hayek and Richard Gere were also presented the ”Olive Medal”.
You can't love Italy, and not love Rome and the Clooney’s are not different. Spotted around in the romantic and historical city Mr and Mrs Clooney are sure to take in all the beautiful sites, fashion and restaurants. Rome is probably one of the most famous cities in the world and is the setting of many movies such as Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn. There is no doubt that you haven’t heard of the Colosseum and Fontana di Trevi and visitors to Rome are spoilt with options of historical sites to visit and experience.
3 Cernobbio, Italy
One of the Clooney’s favorite spots around Lake Como is the city of Cernobbio. They have been pictured here leaving various restaurants and its clear to see why they have fallen in love with the gorgeous town. Home to gorgeous villas, delicious restaurants all with the most stunning views over the lake and the dramatic hills surrounding it. One of the most famous hotels situated just at the water front is Villa d’Este (pictured) a Renaissance former private villa turned luxury hotel. If you prefer you can take the ferry or rent a boat to travel from the different cities around Lake Como so you can find your favorite, just like the Clooney’s.
2 A Family Affair
If there is one thing that is important for Amal and George is family, both prior and after their wedding their separate families have always played a great part in their lives. Now, with their ever busy schedules the grand-parents of their twins often step in to help with the children. The couple are often seen hosting dinners at various restaurants around Italy for parts or the entirety of their families. Amal has three siblings and George has one and it’s safe to say the couple wants to keep their family close and tight knit no matter their superstar status.

As the second largest city in Italy and the fashion capital of the country Milan has incredible shopping possibilities, it is also home to some of the wolds most famous and important pieces of architecture and art - Duomo, the cathedral of Milan and ”the Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci and the famous Opera house ”la Scala” to name a few.
