There are times when people travel to a foreign country and they say to themselves, ‘This place is perfect for my brother,’ or think something like, ‘My sister would have loved this place.’ Sometimes we even think of that crazy uncle or naughtily charming aunt and feel they should have a vacation here or, this place is custom-made for her! In our lifetime, if we are lucky enough, we find one place that will be forever dear to our hearts. There is also that place where we had so much fun that we never forget about it years after.

Men and women have different degrees and levels of fun. They get excited over totally different things. A woman might just absolutely love a place like Napa, and a guy would say he’d rather spend a day in Atlantic City. Whether it is the serene and romantic aura of Italy, or the diversity and sometimes, the unpredictability of Kenya, each country has its own little treat targeted specifically for women or men. Gentlemen, here are 10 of the best destinations women absolutely love, read and learn. Ladies, here are 10 countries where the men would have a smashing time, do whatever you want with the information. Good luck gents and ladies, and have fun!

20 Men: Spain

Ever wondered what a guy’s bucket list would look like? They would put something in there and know that they could do it in Spain. But what they don’t know is where exactly in Spain it happens. In fact, people do it in Portugal, Mexico, and France, too. This event, listed in almost every guy’s bucket list, is the Running of the Bulls. Held annually in Pamplona, Spain, it is the most popular in the world. This event happens every July and runs for nine days. Men from all over the world are welcome to join, as long as they are at least 18-years old, and are not inebriated at the time of the actual event.

19 Men: Brazil

The Carnival is one of the most popular annual events in Brazil, and boy, is it one of the biggest! Celebrated annually and connected to the Roman Catholic celebration of Lent (Ash Wednesday), this tremendous event varies on the date every year. It could happen any day between the last week of February and the first weeks of March. There are big parades that welcome people from wherever, as long as they want to party, they can join. Carnival or not, Brazil is still a very enjoyable destination for men, beach, soccer, and girls. Rio, Sao Paulo, and Floripa: take your pick.

18 Men: Australia

One of the best places in the world, for both men and women, is the land down under, Australia. Known for a population that has more women than men, that alone is a good reason for a man to go. But there are plenty of other reasons. Ready, mates? Go whitewater rafting in Tully, Queensland, shark diving in Manly Sea Life Sanctuary, or stay overnight cliff camping in Mount Buffalo or the Red Cliffs. Of course, skydiving and bungee jumping are usual activities one can do anywhere, so be sure to try out those first three before doing anything else.

17 Men: Puerto Rico

A trip south of America could do good for anyone, especially the men. The women are not only beautiful, they always seem to have lovely bodies, and they also have unpredictably strong and great personalities. Puerto Rican women have a good representation in celebrities, actors Michelle Rodriguez and Rosario Dawson are of Puerto Rican descent. Talk about strong and unpredictable! We’ll say no more about Puerto Rican girls. Puerto Rico’s capital city is the center for a very active nightlife, dancing and mingling with the locals. The country also offers beach fun at its popular beaches, Flamenco Beach, Luquillo Beach, and the Cayo Icacos.

16 Men: Las Vegas

Glimmering lights attract bugs just like the glimmering lights of Las Vegas attract people. The go-to destination for stag and bachelorette parties, we’ve seen plenty of films that revolve around this plotline and are set, almost all the time, in Sin City. Located in the state of Nevada and was just a small quiet town, it is now the country’s casino capital. Pay-per-view caliber bouts and big-name artists frequently perform at hotels on the Strip. Such an active town is a good fit for the active guy. Drive westward and go through the desert, maybe make a stop at Hoover Dam, then find the permanent oasis that is Las Vegas.

15 Men: Thailand

Evolution has taught man over the years to long for new things, explore, and discover. That insatiable hunger for new things, new places, and new experiences can only be satisfied with a trip far east. Thailand is a very good destination, affordable and exotic, different and brand new. If it’s your thing, red light districts are not uncommon in Thailand. But if you just want to relax on a beach and reflect on life, it’s a perfect place too. Must check-in resorts (if money is no problem) are the Rayavadee Resort and Conrad Koh Samui. Check out the views at these beaches as well: Railay Beach and Phra Nang Beach.

14 Men: the Philippines

Nice and extremely hospitable locals are waiting for travelers in the islands of the Philippines. For a great time (day or night) in the city check out the following places where tourists are very much welcome: Makati City, Bonifacio Global City, and Malate, Manila. Boracay (currently closed for environmental restoration) offers a beautiful beach plus a crazy nightlife. But for a visually entertaining, nature and sightseeing, and self-exploration tour, book a trip to the following destinations: Davao City, Bohol, or Palawan. Filipinos are nice by default, especially the girls. Filipino women take care of their men, take it from Robin Williams, or just go and ask Kevin James and Owen Wilson.

13 Men: Sweden

Local people in Sweden have an average height that’s taller than most countries, including the women. Imagine a Swedish woman, standing higher than 6 feet, and trying to talk to a tourist, that tourist could be you, friend. Besides great massages (haha), Sweden is famous for a lot of other things. Stockholm is such an intimidating place for the common man, it’s visually appealing, with intelligent architecture, art galleries, and museums. Take a boat trip to see the best of Stockholm, then feast on their amazing street food. Check out the Saluhall (dining hall and market), one of the best in the land, and in the world.

12 Men: New Zealand

Also known as the Adventure Capital of the World, New Zealand is proud of its unofficial title. Although locals call it a night earlier than tourists are used to, especially the free-spirited guy, there is still plenty of things to do in the Lord of the Rings land. Speaking of LOTR, if you are a fanatic, check out the famous Aragorn’s Cliff. But it’s not as steep as one would expect. Take a tour of Hobbiton, too. A guy would never feel such freedom and tranquility enjoying the vastness of New Zealand. It’s really true that there’s more sheep in New Zealand than people.

11 Men: Ireland

Believe me when I say that Ireland is a perfect vacation destination for guys, not just for the beer, but for a lot of other reasons. Visit the Emerald Isle for a round of golf (if that’s your thing) and to soak in the culture of the country. Reflection is demanded as soon as you step foot in the Cliffs of Moher. Hike through these wonderfully natural scenic views, the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney, Connemara National Park, and the Glendalough Valley. Of course, don’t leave without having that brewery tour. It’s not just Guinness, there are more Irish breweries here, it is Ireland after all, yeah!

10 Women: Canada

Living so close to Canada, Americans rarely find it a vacation destination. Most people would rather travel far to explore a foreign land. But we should never take Canada for granted. As the first entry in this list for the ladies, Canada is a popular tourist destination for women. One of the safest countries on Earth, with some of the nicest people living in it. Old Port is just a great view for the women, then mix in museums, French restaurants, and old buildings and streets. Security and beauty, a nice combination for the solo woman traveler. Stay in Montreal and enjoy them all.

9 Women: Australia

Australia is a haven for single travelers. The country is appealing to both the single adventure-seeking man and the single soul-searching woman. Get ready to get your hearts melted by these adorable creatures, exclusive only to the continent of Australia. The kangaroo and its adorable joey, the weird but cute platypus, dingo, wallaby, and the cutest of them all, the koala. If you absolutely adore koalas, do not miss a visit in the Lone Pine Sanctuary, it’s the largest koala sanctuary in the world. Of course, have a nice meal with a view of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Take a swim in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef while the coral is still healthy.

8 Women: Thailand

Bangkok has always been, and will always be, a popular tourist destination for women all over the globe. As a matter of fact, it is also a great vacation hub for men. Notice that in Bangkok, there are also a number of solo female travelers, that just shows not only how safe the country is, but how popular it is for women tourists. Take a nice, long look at the Grand Palace, some solemn shrines, and temples for reflection time, and then check out the natural beauty of Phi Phi Islands in Phuket. There are also plenty of malls in the country for shopping needs.

7 Women: Iceland

Most people hear or think of Iceland and say it’s too cold. Duh, it’s just a name. But yeah, Iceland can be super cold, especially in the winter, the northern part of the country can get up to -22 degrees Fahrenheit. But we suggest going there in summer, July and August are the best months. Iceland is a peaceful country, especially Reykjavik. As the country’s biggest and capital city, it's also a safe place for tourists and solo backpackers. If you enjoy a nice, long hike, why not do it with an endless majestic view. The Golden Circle offers a 190-mile hike, a view of the Golden Falls and Old Faithful’s cousin, the Strokkur. Of course in the colder season, there’s always the Northern Lights to see and tick off that bucket list.

6 Women: Guatemala

You can never go wrong going to Guatemala for a nice summer vacation. A perfect place for the adventurous girl, Guatemala offers a lot, try to do all of them for your stay here. Marvel at the culture and history of the country by checking out the Mayan Ruins. For beach fun and diving experiences, check out the Lighthouse Reef Atoll and the Blue Hole.

5 Women: Italy

Gladiators conquered and perished a long time ago in Rome’s historic and iconic Coliseum. Nowadays, life is different, but there is still plenty of things to conquer for the traveling woman. Rome and Bologna are great cities for your stops in Italy. Just walking around Rome and enjoying the ancient structures is an experience so great, one can be ready to head back home. But there’s more to see. The Pantheon, the Coliseum, and Vatican City. In Bologna, enjoy amazing Italian cuisine and visit the Giardini Margherita. Then there’s Florence, Naples, and the southern towns of Matera and Potenza. Tears of joy are not forbidden, so just let it flow. It’s only expected with the beauty and charm that Italy holds.

4 Women: Cuba

Imagine having salsa lessons right here in Cuba, that would be a real treat. Imagine learning it from a hot Cuban guy, now check that off the bucket list when you travel to Cuba. Havana, perhaps more popularized today by Camila Cabello, is a city worth staying in. Old Havana is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with plenty of Neoclassical and Baroque buildings like the Catedral de San Cristóbal and Castillo de la Real Fuerza. See the country's version of Washington D.C., El Capitolio; it kind of looks like the Pantheon, too. There are numerous museums and other beautiful buildings to visit and have selfies within this historically-rich and culturally-abundant country.

3 Women: India

Rajasthan may have been designed for the traveling woman, it’s a nice appetizer for the country of India. Aso called the Land of Kings, it is an Indian state located in the north, just below Pakistan. Feast on great views of palaces and forts. A very affordable vacation with lots to do and see. Check out the City Palace in Jaipur, the Amer Fort, the wondrous Hawa Mahal. For a nice desert hike, head to Jaisalmer and enjoy the city’s architecture, this city is a famous tourist spot. Wanna spot a real live tiger, go to the Ranthambore National Park. These sites are all found in Rajasthan, India.

2 Women: Japan

Look beyond the travel time, the jet lag, and the weird nation of Japan. Focus on Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms, and the world-class cuisine. Kyoto is a place that’s great for the woman traveler. A safe city, respectful people, and amazing food! See numerous villas, gardens, Japanese dojos and imperial palaces. Visit the Shimogamo Shrine and the Kamigamo Shrine. If you happen to travel here in the cherry blossoms season (middle of March to the first half of April) do not miss a nice, peaceful walk in the Maruyama Park. Arrange a trip to get to the best place to view Mount Fuji from Kyoto, then enjoy some fine dining in Kyoto Kitcho or Hafuu.

1 Women: France

Sometimes, the most popular tourist destination is neglected for reasons of commonality, crowded tourist spots, and a certain lack of adventure and brand new experiences. That should not stop a woman from exploring France for herself. To avoid the tourist crowd, book a visit in April. After doing so, enjoy walking the city streets with plenty of space, and maybe buy some delicious pastry from the local bakery. The weather is also great this time of year. Do not check into a hotel, mingle with fellow travelers in a nice hostel, there’s plenty in Paris. Don’t forget that day trip and night version of your Eiffel Tower selfies!
