10 Bagdad Cemetery From The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

The original version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was released in 1974, and even with a pretty small budget, it became a true horror classic. Actors and actresses from the Austin, Texas area were used in it since that is where it was filmed.

The farmhouse featured in this story can be visited and is a restaurant now, the gas station featured in this story can be visited and is a restaurant/motel now, and you can visit the cemetery in real life, too. It's called the Bagdad Cemetery located in Leander, Texas, and that iconic tombstone is instantly recognizable.

9 The Normandy American Cemetery From Saving Private Ryan

In 1998, Saving Private Ryan was released. This acclaimed Steven Spielberg film focuses on World War II, and it stars Tom Hanks and Matt Damon.

At the start and end of this film, a cemetery is shown, and these scenes were shot at The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, which can be found in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. This film was inspired by the lives of the Niland Brothers, and two of them are buried here.

8 Mount Hope Cemetery From Pet Sematary

Pet Sematary, a movie based on a Stephen King novel of the same name, came out in 1989. Since King lives in Maine, many of his stories are set in and around this area, including this one. Additionally, real-life spots in this state may be used as filming locations, like the Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor.

This is the second-oldest garden cemetery in the country. Notable people such as former Vice President Hannibal Hamlin and actors Richard Golden and Ralph Sipperlywere laid to rest here. King is in this movie too, playing the minister at a funeral.

7 Christ Church Burial Ground From National Treasure

In 2004, National Treasure, the Disney movie starring Nicolas Cage, came out, and it's full of many exciting and historical-based scenes. One of them shows Cage’s character running away from bad guys, and part of this was filmed at the Christ Church Burial Ground in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In 1999, a drama movie called Double Jeopardy was introduced to the world; it stars Ashley Judd as a woman who is framed for murder by her husband, who is played by Tommy Lee Jones.

One moment of this story includes a meetup at the Lafayette Cemetery (as well as a frightening scene inside a casket), so this actual place was used for filming. Interview with the Vampire from 1994, Dracula 2000 from 2000 and Deja Vu from 2006 also featured scenes from this cemetery that is full of tombs and mausoleums.

3 Laurel Hill Cemetery From Rocky

A very popular film series that exists would be the Rocky movies, which star Sylvester Stallone as boxer Robert "Rocky" Balboa. The first installment was given to the world in 1976, and the cemetery featured in this story is the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Other locales in this city are seen in this movie, like the very recognizable stairs at the city's art museum. The cemetery has a very special landmark: Rocky’s wife, Adrian, has a tombstone in this spot, which was visited for movie scenes and which can be visited by fans.

2 Evans City Cemetery From Night of the Living Dead

One of the most popular zombie movies is Night of the Living Dead, a piece by George A. Romero from the year 1968. It was filmed in Evans City, Pennsylvania, including its opening cemetery scene.

Additionally, Romero’s movie The Crazies, from the year 1973, was also filmed in and around Evans City, and Dawn of the Dead, his second installment in the Night of the Living Dead series, featured the Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania (for even more neat spots to see!).

1 Decatur Cemetery From Remember the Titans

In 2000, Remember the Titans was released. This sports film is based on Herman Boone’s time at the T. C. Williams High School in the ‘70s, and it stars people such as Denzel Washington, Ryan Hurst, Ethan Suplee, Ryan Gosling and, Hayden Panettiere.

The beginning and the end of this film show off a cemetery, and that would be the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Georgia. This is the Atlanta area’s oldest burial ground, and it can be visited by those who are interested in football, movies and/or cemeteries.
