As you’ll see, most of these exclusive islands only get visited by A-Listers because, well…only they can afford to go there. These islands are expensive and part of the exclusivity is that many of them only allow a limited number of visitors at a time, meaning that you’ll be getting the ultimate quiet time and solitude that is sometimes needed while out there.

Even though we can dream and work hard our whole lives, it’s pretty safe to say that most of us will probably never be able to get anywhere close to these luxury retreats, nevermind actually setting foot on the islands. So scroll down below and feast your eyes on some of the most exclusive islands that A-Listers have been keeping to themselves and 10 spots that we can certainly also enjoy.

20 Fregate Island, Seychelles: For The A-Listers

We start our list off with one of the most exclusive places to holiday on earth. Fregate Island is an island just 1 000 miles off the coast of Kenya and besides the stunning natural beauty of the island, is loved by many A-listers because it only has 7 villas and private beaches. Talk about exclusivity! This is a favorite for many stars because of the limited amount of guests on the beach – you basically won’t run into anyone you don’t want to. Celebs enjoy their time here by engaging in water sports such as snorkeling and swimming. Fregate Island has been the perfect getaway spot for Brad and Angelina (back in the day) and Prince William and Kate Middleton.

It is safe to say that Bora Bora Island has over the past few years been one of the most sought-after vacation destinations around the world. Why? 18 Necker Island, British Virgin Islands: For The A-Listers

We’re pretty sure that you’ve heard about this island before and even though the public can certainly visit the island, one would have to dig very deep into one’s pocket to be able to do so. This is the private island owned by British billionaire, Sir Richard Branson. As you would have guessed, this island has hosted many A-listers including Oprah Winfrey, Michael Douglas, and Steven Spielberg. The island is great for the stars because it can accommodate around 30 guests at any one time and we all know how much they love to get away from the paparazzi sometimes so it is understandable why many have flocked to this spot for their vacations.

17 The Bahamas, Caribbean: For The Rest Of Us

There are around 700 islands in the Bahamas. It is well-known and loved by visitors because one can engage in exciting water sports which include scuba diving and snorkeling. There are also many hotels and resorts in the Bahamas, ranging from very expensive and exclusive to more affordable places that the rest of us can enjoy. We love the Bahamas in particular because of the warm weather that you can find all year round so it is the perfect spot for a Caribbean getaway. We also love the fact that Thunderball Grotto, which is the Andros Barrier Reef has been the location for a few James Bond films which means that when visiting the location, we can live out some of our most favorite Bond scenes.

16 Laucala Private Island, Fiji: For The A-Listers

There are a maximum number of 80 guests allowed on this island. Stuff.NZ explains just why many A-listers find themselves hopping on a plane and going to the private island. “Privacy rates high for some guests and, with its own air and maritime exclusion zones, the island is truly off limits to prying paparazzi. The resort doesn’t divulge the guests’ names unless they do it themselves”. Celebs who’ve enjoyed the island are Oprah Winfrey and Elle Macpherson, to name a few. The Fijian-style villas, lush jungle views from villas and the coconut plantations are just some of the reasons why the stars keep going back to this paradise island.

15 Koh Yao Noi Island, Thailand: For The Rest Of Us

Thailand has in recent years been at the top of many people’s travel bucket lists and there is no questioning why. The islands that are found are simply breathtaking, the people are beautiful and generally very friendly, and the cuisine leaves us all wanting more. Koh Yao Noi Island gives us all that and more. It is near the Andaman Sea and as soon as you step foot on the island, you will be mesmerized by the distinct bamboo and thatch roofs that are popular from Thai architecture. We especially appreciate Thailand because of the fact that there are many affordable destinations meaning that we don’t have to dig deep into our pockets to enjoy some much-earned vacation time.

14 Mustique Island, West Indies: For The A-Listers

Mustique Island is special for many reasons, including being the number 1 vacation spot for not just any celebs. The island is a popular vacation choice for the British royal family. The likes of Prince Phillip, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, and Kate Middleton have been spotted on the island a number of times. Yeah, now that’s what we call “exclusive”. The island is also loved for its minimalism and how it has managed to keep its authenticity through the years. WMagazine explores how secluded the island really is. “There are no street signs, traffic lights, ATMs, or golf courses. The dress code calls for bare feet”. This seclusion is a big drawing card for the rich and famous.

13 Montego Bay, Jamaica: For The Rest Of Us

Many who love the Caribbean, cannot stop ranting and raving about Jamaica. It gives guests the perfect combination of island life, amazing cuisine, and nightlife that is fun and simply exhilarating. While visiting Jamaica, you may have come across or heard about Montego Bay, which is located on Jamaica’s north coast. Most of the destinations on this list have been private, quiet and tranquil-like destinations and although we love that, we just need to switch it up a bit. Montego Bay is described by TripAdvisor as “Jamaica’s most energetic city…A raucous spring break party town and a destination for those seeking a more low-key adventure”.

12 Antibes, France: For The A-Listers

France has been the most visited country in the world for a few years and there are many reasons why. We love the fancy cuisine, the Eiffel Tower is, of course, a major landmark attraction and the fashion that one finds there leaves us all a little inspired to switch up our own closets. While many have been flocking to France and its popular cities like Paris, the A-Listers have been heading to Antibes. It is a resort town positioned perfectly between Nice and Cannes and has an old-town feel to it. Our favorite stars descend onto this place, particularly during the Cannes Film Festival.

11 Anguilla Island, Caribbean: For The Rest Of Us

While we certainly love to live vicariously through some of our favorite celebs, we do like it when we too are able to have a piece of private island life. Anguilla Island offers us that and so much more. These enchanting islands offer private resorts with plenty of white sandy beaches for us all to enjoy. Perhaps the best part of it is the fact that there are no luxury resorts, meaning that although a vacation there is certainly breathtaking because of the natural beauty of the island, a large part of it still remains “untouched” and authentically Caribbean. Celebrities such as Beyonce, Kim K, and Paris Hilton have enjoyed time on the island and because it’s open to the rest of us, so can we.

10 Turtle Island, Fiji: For The A-Listers

Turtle Island is simply the epitome of luxury 5-star private island vacations that the A-Listers know about. If you hop on to Google and wonder if you’ve seen this island before, you would be correct. The crystal blue waters were featured in the Hollywood film “The Blue Lagoon”. This island is one of the most exclusive, not only in Fiji but the rest of the world because it only permits 14 couples to visit at a time. Yep, you read right. These couples can enjoy some of the island activities such as snorkeling and swimming and the best part is that guests have their own private beaches. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how the rich and famous roll.

9 Gili Islands, Indonesia: For The Rest Of Us

The Gili Islands of Indonesia are truly a gem like no other and we’re of course happy that they are open to the rest of us so that we too can enjoy these tiny islands that are known for their palm trees, tranquil waters and sandy beaches. The Lonely Planet breaks down what makes each of the islands special. “Each island has its own special character. Gili Trawangan is the most cosmopolitan, with a raucous party scene. Gili Air has the strongest local character and an appealing mix of buzz and bliss, while little Gili Meno is only just waking from its pre-development slumber”. This lets us know that the Gili Islands are a place that we can all enjoy.

8 Las Alamnadas, Manzallino, Mexico: For The A-Listers

As a place that only allows 35 guests at a time, this special gem in Mexico has been a popular vacation spot for many A-Listers. The main reason why the stars are attracted to it is that of the exclusivity and privacy that the location provides them. There are only 4 private beaches and the island is set up in such a way that each guest is able to have a piece of their the private beaches to themselves. Activities such as hiking in the nature reserve and riding horses on the beaches are offered. This is also perfect for the bird enthusiasts as it offers a number of rare birds to spot.

7 Catalina Island, California: For The Rest Of Us

This resort town is a popular vacation spot for many people around the world, including the locals. Then again, who would want to leave when you live in paradise? The island is positioned near South California and has over the last few decades seen many A-Listers on its shores. There is plenty to do on the island so you will definitely not be bored and twiddling your thumbs. There is fishing, mountain biking, surfing, and scuba diving available to visitors. This is perhaps one of the best spots to head out to as it also offers us plenty to do including a visit to the Botanical Gardens and Museum.

6 St.Barth's Island, Caribbean: For The A-Listers

There is one word that can easily describe this luxury island that only attracts the rich and famous – expensive. TripAdvisor highlights that “While you can find some less expensive lodging, nowhere is exactly cheap. You can do much better in low season (April – November) but will still pay around $200 per night unless you go really basic. Additionally, you need a car to really enjoy St. Barth. This may cost about $300 per week or more”. All these numbers can get us a little uncomfortable but we all know that this is just small change for some of our favorite celebs, which is why St. Barth’s is pretty much made for them.

5 Bermuda: For The Rest Of Us

Bermuda offers many visitors the perfect vacation because there is plenty to do out there on this stunning island. Besides the popular water activities such as swimming, deep-water snorkeling and diving that is expected on an island, one is also able to explore underground caves with pools at the Crystal Cave and for the nature and wildlife lovers out there, the island’s vast wildlife can be explored at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo. We also love the special pink sand that is found on a couple of the beaches which, of course, will give us epic photo ops.

4 Turks And Caicos Islands, Caribbean: For The A-Listers

Just like the many spots already mentioned on this list that are made for A-Listers, this is one spot that is incredibly expensive which is why only the rich and famous frequent this place. An article covered by The Huffington Post explains that “It is expensive. Period. Having traveled through the Caribbean I must say this was the most expensive island I have been to. Not only are the hotels pricey but the food, drinks, tours, and transportation are as well. A rum punch at the hotel was $18! A 3-hour island tour was over $100”. The Balinese-style villas and the beautiful, clean beaches are just some of the reasons why these islands will remain special for a very long time.

3 St Martin, Caribbean: For The Rest Of Us

We’re glad to have this featured on our list under one of the places around the world that are perfect for us regular people. We love St. Martin for a number of reasons, including the incredible nightlife that one can expect to find there. In fact, this is perhaps one of the perfect spots on this list that are for a fun weekend getaway with friends as you won’t be disappointed. This small Caribbean island has a great mixture of Afro-Caribbean, Chinese, White, and East Indian communities so the cuisine is also not only delicious but accommodates quite a variety of taste preferences.

2 St. Tropez Island, French Riviera: For The A-Listers

If there’s one place on earth that is meant for A-Listers, it would have to be St.Tropez Island, which is why it tops our list in islands that are perfect for the stars. St Tropez Island is the most expensive destination in France (and we all know how costly a French vacation can get). This is probably why you won’t be spotting many regular folks out there but rather, the very rich and famous. Big stars such as Beyonce and Jay Z, Elton John and Leonardo DiCaprio have been spotted a number of times here. The island has luxury wines for guests to indulge in, local cuisine and a number of cafes that will leave any visitor wanting more.

1 Little Palm Island, Florida: For The Rest Of Us

Finally, number 1 on this list for us regular people is Little Palm Island in Florida. This is a popular vacation spot for honeymooners and we certainly understand why. There are no TVs and phones on the island meaning that you and your partner will be enjoying the beauty of the island without being distracting by the hustle and bustle of the world. We love the seclusion of this place, which is sometimes very much needed. It also offers a perfect mixture of French and Latin cuisine, as well as stunning white sandy beaches. Sure, we probably can’t make it to a number of the destinations on this list that are for the A-Listers but Little Palm Island makes it all okay.
